Maybe it's just me, but did anybody else happen to notice that the Asgard don't use contractions? Weird observation on my part, but that's just me. They'd rather say "we are" rather than we're, etc.
Teal'c doesn't use contractions much either. As far as I can make out, he's speaking English and that may be a way to show that he's speaking a foreign language.
The Asgard seem like a very formal and all but humorless species. Perhaps that's the way the showrunners want to show it?
