Has anybody considered the possibility that when the Tollan were wiped out by Anubis that some or all of them may have ascended? Considering the fact that they were advanced enough to build their own version of a stargate, their friendship with the Nox, and the notion hinted by Narim that they had cracked quantum physics? It's something to think about.....

They were advanced enough to build surface to air guns to blow enemy ships out of the sky, and they quite happily lived for who knows how long on their original homeworld. Until they made the mistake to impart some of their technology to a neighboring system which they used to completely decimate their world leading to the ultimate destruction of the Tollan home world. It was only after Anubis began making his presence known in the galaxy that they scale tipped back to the goa'uld. Let's not also forget about most advanced race to ever live, the ancients, got their a&&&& kicked by the wraith, so no matter how advanced a race is their is always something more powerful that can eventually bring them down.

While they might have been technologically advanced, i don't think spiritually/mentally they were up there...

The Ancients were defeated by wraith specifically because wraith numbers allowed them to overcome superior Lantean technology. The Tollan were destroyed because specifically Anubis had technology more sophisticated than their own. That implies they weren't advanced enough to be close to Ascension.

The Tollan were defeated bc Anubis had gained access to advanced tech that he learned about as an ascended, or rather half-ascended, being, that's all.
