Question about End Credits

I love listening to the theme music that plays over the end credits. The end credits used to be sixty seconds long. At some point, they were cut to thirty seconds. This lead to the end credit music being cut by half. Does anyone know which season this began with? Does anyone know why this happened?

I'm thinking season 9, but I'm not 100% sure.

Probably to give them an extra ad or two during the hour.

Or to film an extra 30-second scene or two 15-second scenes or to film longer scenes for story purposes, but I'd believe in what Gen. Ghris said first.
