P90 fire wax paper wads. Would you trust a monkey, with a sub machine gun, and the monkey knew how to use it. NOOOOOOOOOO

There are really strict rules about the use of weapony used for tv and film production. All the weapons have been modified so they are no longer viable. Even so, they cannot be used on set without the presence of a licensed armorer. Real explosives that were still intact would never be let near the set, although it is quite possible that they were real casings.
Prop guns don't expell a projectile, although people have been injured and killed when something goes wrong and the wadding is expelled. Prog guns are still dangerous, and are used cautiously.
