can you do the battle cruiser next please or something else...i think battle ship should be one of the last or the last seeing as it's like the symbol of the fleet

I doubt I will submit anything for those two classes..but I agree with Buba. That does seem like the ship we should vote on last.

Well you asked for the flagship, which is the "symbol of the fleet" which is alsothe battleship...i did what you asked for, if you want to do the battlecruiser then we will.
Also a rail chain gun isnt that implausable, its just 6 self contained rail guns which are put in to a rotating barrel. Power sources would power all 6 and each gun would have individual ammo boxes which could be beamed into positionto reload. If you can have a normal chain gun then you can have a rail chain gun.

I think the battleship/flagship should be last as well. What about doing the smaller ships i.e. corvette/destroyer/frigate next or fairly soon

sure well do those three class next (im rushing things) well have the Destroyer class and then Frigate which will be split in to the civilian corvette and the military frigate. corvette is the civilian counterpart of a frigate correct?

I think the votes have been clear, the Storm and Challenger win the Carrier and Battlecarrier class respectively.
I just wanted to ask, what would you think (zake and AJT) if the storm became the battlecarrier and the Challenger was our main carrier (and assault carrier) the storm is more heavily armed so might suit the battlecarrier role better, and the models agree, mine looks like a battlecarrier and yours looks more carrier like than battlecarrier? So no offical carrier only, but two subclasses of carrier, the battle and assault carrier's. One for space combat with an airwing the other for planetary assault and air support of ground units.
Would that work?

Your right on the corvette designation.

But instead of having 1 Destroyer, 1 Frigate etc, how about having 2 or 3 destroyer types . Surely a fleet the size of the GW fleet would have more than one type of escort. The USN has 4 types, the RN has 3.

We'll see how many entries we have. But yes its possible for the smaller classes that more than one could be in the fleet, especially if they are of different ages and for different roles.

True. but a chain gun is not a gattling gun . What you've designed is a rail-gattling gun. A chain gun is a type of machine gun or automatic cannon that uses an external source of power, rather than recoil or gas, to reload the weapon, and does so via a continuous loop of chain similar to that used on a bike. A railchain gun would use a chain to reload the chambers , but would still have to use electricty to power the accelrators. lol

Most gattling guns are very similar to chain guns but do not use a chain. Each barrel is loaded and then is rotated into place to fire.

small(ish), fast, armed to the teeth.
About 120 to 300m long i think, lots of guns/missiles for its size, no fighters, very little frills. Thats your typical destroyer

Come on, this thread has died, anyone got any new submitions, for any class at this point, im open, first person to submit a design will set the next class at this point. I really dont want to see this thread die because it has alot of potential to be even greater than its parent.

i'm not doing anything until the battleship, but i'll just say the Swarm are coming along alright i've got most of the Wandering Wolf arc planned out and i will be releasing specs on Swarm ships soon...

you have a choice i can either detail the emergence of the swarm in the Red Devil galaxy and show their war with the advanced race living there or i can write out the Wandering Wolf arc???
