History

One day in the late 20th century and early 21Th century a young Second Lieutenant in the Air Force who Majored in Aero-Space Designs, watched Dane Cook do one of his comedy acts and he thought BAMF would be a sweet name for a ship. He then started designs ships as a joke not knowing of the SGC. Years later as a Captain he was introduced to the world of the Stargate. Over the years he worked on several different ships although at the time Earth had not the resources or the desire to go on these ideas. He worked on the BC-304 Daedalus and still tried to have his ideas made. As time went on he gave up on his ideas knowing that he would have to wait for them to be made. He stored them with his family members that were passed down. Recently these designs have been found and using the technology and resources now at Earths reach they have modified the designs with there tech. The ship was named the B.A.M.F.(Battle Armed Modified Frigate) in honor of that USAF officer who wanted to name that ship it. The ship now fights along side Earths force it did not see action against the wraith but has had some battle against other enemies of Earth. In its history it has only lost 23 members of the original crew. The commanding officer was Lieutenant-Colonel Sawacki but he was promoted and then retired. The new commanding officer is Lieutenant-Colonel Biggio one of the decadents of the original designer.

I don't know if you guys already did a frigate or if this is right but this is what I did. I'm new to the forum and I didn't want to scroll through out all of these posts to find out.

I need your opinion on something guys. For the carrier class, I was planning on a dish that when the ship is gonna explode or the self destruct is activated, the energy from all the naquadah generators could be channeled into the dish and fired out as a massive particle cannon. Although it would ripped the ship apart(like a normal self destruct) a lot of the energy of the blast isn't wasted. The dish would come with it's own targetting sensors and a basic shield.

Easily the largest vehicle ever created by the Tau'ri, the Constellation-class battleship was constructed in the years leading up to the Wraith assault on Earth in 2038. Designed to counter the much larger capital ships in use by the Ori, Wraith, and other hostile powers, the Constellation is not so much the next generation of Tau'ri technology as the culmination of forty years research, exploration, and development. Her guass rifles were over twice the size of the Challenger's, and dealt massively greater damage. The most advanced power generation systems went into the battleship, making her shields, engines, and weapons all much stronger than any ship that had come before it. However, aside from that and the lastest cloaking technology, the SBB-228 used what was readily available to be constructed.

The SGC had long contemplated building a battleship-class starship, with a primary focus on heavy guns instead of missiles. But, with only kinetic energy weapons available having a big-gun battleship in service was rather unattractive. Energy-based weapons had considerable advantage over kinetic-based ones in drawn-out firefights, so until they could come up with a gun that didn't run out of ammo easily, the SGC's ships were stuck with missiles.

Finally, around 2030, large-scale kinetic energy weapons and ion cannons reverse-engineered from Tollan designs became available, and the various GATO nations were enthused about having a massive ship capable of carrying the flag for the Tau'ri. The first ship was designed, laid down, and built at the newly-finished James Lovell Orbital Shipyards, situated at a LaGrange point between Earth and the Moon. Christened the Constellation, the battleship was launched packing some of the largest Gauss guns ever built and several second-generation ion cannons.

However, with the Constellation utilizing the first Mk. 6 naquadriah reactors, it's power output potential was massive. It was decided to test the latest ion cannon design, the Mk. V by General Dynamics.

Using technology gleaned from the Arcturus project, the Mk. VI would very briefly access energy from an alternate universe to boost it's power. Creating a link to another universe, the weapon then collapsed the link in a violent event called a subspace implosion. This implosion boosted the normal energy of the ion cannon's shots by an order of magnitude, without having to stick on external powersources. However, even with this technology, the weapons required so much power than only two could be carried on the Constellation. Still, one was enough to blow a hole clear through a Wraith superhives, which the battleship used to good effect when it was transferred to the Pegasus galaxy as Wraith assaults became more daring. However, the long recharge time between shots (one minute plus) required for the Mk. 6s restricted the Constellation to using her main guns to deliver deathblows to enemy ships, or as a last resort. Her 16 inch guass rifles and Mk. II ion cannons, however, easily overpowered any ship in her weight class and a fair number above them.

The other major advancement sported by the Constellation was her cloaking device. Based on the modifications Daniel Jackson made to the [/i]Daedalus[/i] several years ago, while the cloak provided the same stealth as the original Merlin design it was just as much of a power hog. All weapons had to be taken offline to use it, and even then it could only be utilized for a few hours before it compromised other major systems.

The Constellation's mission, however, was not stealth. It was not even limited to straight combat. Her massive flight pods allowed her to move large numbers of troops to combat theatres, her heavy guns making her an excellent amphibious assault starship. While lacking the provision for fighters, she could carry several Tel'tacs, Puddlejumpers, Pegasi, and gunships for use against space and ground-based targets. Her massive communications array let her function effectively as a command and control vessel, and was often the preferred flagship of the taskforces she was assigned to. She also served to "show the flag" for Earth, by making several trips around the galaxies as a show of strength and goodwill to Earth's allies and protectorates. She had two sister ships under construction in 2035, the Victory and the Yamato, before the Wraith invaded. Both were destroyed in their berths in the ensuing battles to liberate the planet, along with the rest of the James Lovell installation.

Due to the expense in building her, and the devastation from the Wraith invasion of Earth, for the moment the Constellation is the only one of her kind and has been assigned to the Milky Way as the Milky Way Fleet's flagship. After the attack on Tiamat, a Constellation-class starship named Enterprise has been laid down at Newport News in Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

it's very good, apart from the part where it says it can blow a hole clean though a Wraith hive ship thats like blowing a hole through like 5km of Wraith super ablative armor internal force fields and thick bulk heads...sorry but that weapon would be fanwank even though it takes 1 minute to charge! No ship we can make should be capable of even going toe to toe with a superhive otherwise it's going to be incredably powerful ridiculasly so mate...i sugest toning down that particular weapon signicantly i think blowing a hole through a hive ship is still a bit over powered but it's more acceptable...

The superhive is the single most powerful enemy ship we have ever ecountered aside from asuran city ships but it can beat them using it's shield dampening weapon...

If Immhoteps ship can rival an Ancient and Asgard ship, the Connie can blow a hole through a superhive. And if the Superhive is stronger than an Ori ship or Ancient city-ship, then its fanwank as hell in the first place. Also, as far as I know wraith ships don't have internal force fields or ablative armor. Saying it could blow a hole through a regular hive isn't much of a feat, the Thor and Challenger can do that, as could the Pegasus.
