Why? I always got the feeling that the ptb were really quite self-effacing. If they make a mistake they tend to own up to it. they're not scary and unapproachable and nasty.
they generally tend to care what the fans want, like and expect.

which is what makes the show so great.

I'm sure now they're sorry they got rid of her, but at the time I think it was kind of necessary.
