actually i like the non symetric design of the aurora it adds a challange to building it and imo it looks good, also as this is a reproduction addin another arm is out of the question im afraid. and im glad you like it!

Saquist you make a few really good points, I'm half asleep atm so will read through it again and see if I understand what you would like me to do with the sensor hub tomorrow.

Cheers again for the great comments, I feel you really understand my points on the design but also the concept for universe common factors.

Spent the last couple of days working on what should be some paid 3D work.... while working on that, i've been able to work on a second file during the loooooong render times.

First up is a design for a Earth built Stargate. (The original idea was not mine.... though irritatingly i can't remember who it was that came up with it)

Next up is the 'final' renders of an alternate Frigate design that was all but lost in my last computer crash....(Specs will be put up later)

Finally are two renders of the same design. the left hand is the original (Now a short range non-Hyper Drive ship) and the right image is the new and, hopefully, improved version (Long range Hyper Drive capable ship). the ultimate idea behind the design is a (relatively) cheap and simple ship for the smaller nations of the IOA to build/buy and operate.

Merlin, I actually like the raised nose structure on your ships bow.

It lools great to me.

Gives it a more robust feel.

Alx has done a full re-work of the BB310, the "Turtle" deck is removed from the upper structure, the overall design is fatter. Here are some pics of the 310 being escorted by two 304's

As you can see next to the 304's it's huge ship, the butt end houses the power module

also an add to PJ's post the ship still has some minor deatailing that will be added, and some of you might recognize it as the the 305 i created a few months ago but it has now had its designation changed and the hull configuration has been updated to suit PJ's vision but rest asured once she is 100% complete she'll have just about the same amount of detail my 304 does
