here I've got a picture of what I would like the Katana Class Super Space Carrier to be.

depends how big it is and how wide it is. Another factor is at what point the ship is at its widest.

that may sound confusing...for example the bellerophon bay/ the large horns starts off at 375m wide for 194m, spreading out to 700m wide. created below image to show what i mean.

quick suggestion add wings or something to the head of the ship, quite phallic. I would make it more hammerhead shark to even out the rear. I'm unsure about the BSG hanger wings. stopped watching bsg boxset at the battle with the ressurection ship...may start again tonight.

I would shrink it a little aswell, its huge...i thought the bellerophon was big at 1440m long. What is your ship for/ role of ship?

the ship is meant to be a flag ship and a deep space carrier. Supposed to be the backbone of a fleet, and to be capable of keeping it and its fleet supplied from its own reserves for 2 years without going to any planet

Well, personally I'd go for a flatdeck design because you can recover fighters quicker and there's less change of missing the hangar pod during a hot landing.

Through for launch, launch tubes like the ones from BSG would be advisable for quick deployment.

2 years is stretching it through, there's no reason for it to be able to do that since hyper drives are so fast.

At the moment it's simply a 'small ship'..... not really decided on a function for it yet.... got ideas, but nothing concrete yet.
