btw, not the biggest fan of ONE: simple shaped ships TWO: i dont like cheese! THREE: it is a cargo ship!!!not a friggin battlecruiser...cargo ships are unarmed, if armed at all, it is very very VERY lightly armed....12 nukes...2 rail guns?that is half as much rail guns as a 304...and the 304 doesnt even have 12 nukes
The 304's or DSC's whatever you want to call them have 32 nukes. There's a pic I posted in another thread that is super large and really high quality off of an hdtv. You can count the individual silos.

Is it a Swiss made ship. Because if it's as good a construction as the russian sub in watergate than the thing will have a lot of holes in it pretty quickly.

Hmm that may be true but this is supposed to be a cargo vessel not a front line warship. Save the nukes for battle.

That sub was built fine. It just wasn't meant to be inside a giant water-like organism.
I count sixteen...even if you just count the stripes beside the silos (presuming one for each silo) then there is 8 on each side.
Do you see the dark stripe going down the middle of the silos? You can see the barrier between the individual silos. There are 32. Go to www.thescifiworld.net for the larger pic.

Looks like 1 "silo" has 2 shutters, so maybe 2 torpedoes, so hence 32, also theres no reason that there isn't more torpedoes stockpiled, so possibly more.
Type: third generation IOC Interstellar cargo/prospector ship
Technology Base: Goa'uld/ Hebridan/ Earth/ Asgard
Crew:
1x captain
12x starship technicians
1x mad scientist
3x pilots (they go in shifts)
1x navigator/computer specialist
(?)x passengers(as many as the cargo hold can fit)
Dimensions:
Length: 418m
Width: 111m
Height: 72m
Weapons:
8x point defense coil guns(not equipped to this model but planned for a future refit)
Defenses:
Trinium/titanium alloy outer hull and superstructure.
Energy shield
Ships of the Line:
Zephyre
(No others are planned at this point)
Background:
It was designed shortly after the Antarctic star gate was destroyed but the plans were shelved after the Russians lent the Giza gate to the SGC. It stayed in mothballs until it was uncovered and built by the International Oversight Committee shortly after the first encounter between the ships of earth and those of the Ori. Its primary mission is to look for and gather resources for the IOC so that it can build and maintain more warships.
So what do you think?

btw, very nice pics, and i only count 16-18 silos...although i know there are some on the back top...i beleive i see at least 4 launched from there in the season finale of sg1
we both wrong? haha, but again, VERY nice pics i finally figured out where the bridge is, for some reason i could never pinpoint it lol
looks pretty nice, but mad scientist?(lol, spelling is rong aint it?)
I don't know what you mean by the spelling being wrong but I do know that I meant mad scientist. Anyway why shouldn't a starship have a mad scientist? After all a normal scientist is too caught up in things like popular theories. A mad scientist knows all of the latest theories but doesn't care what they say is or is not possible.

Ok this is primarily meant to bump this thread up again but also to issue a new and hopefully better recieved contract.
Design a Cheap long range heavy Battleship that carries no fighters and uses only the resources and technology that we have seen Earth possess and use on their ships on a regular basis.
P.S. tell me of anything that would make this contract better and more specific(I'm really new at this).

I'll take you up on that
Helios-Class Cruiser (name may be subject to change)
Shaped like a hexagonal prism - simple to build and narrow profile head-on
Unshielded. Usually the magnetic cannon will disable enemy ships before they come into firing range, and extended missile bombardment is lethal. Also, the ships are resistant to fragmentation and can survive quite a bit of damage (ie. they don't act like they've been packed with dynamite like most sci-fi ships) or at least enough damage until the crew can get to the lifepods (on the underside).
Designed for maximum durability. Heavily armoured with isolated compartments to reduce risk of depressurisation. Structurally sound with honeycombed hull reinforcement.
Powered by deuterium fusion reactor.
The bridge is burried deep inside the ship behind thick reinforced armour and hull, rather than vunerably exposed.
Missile pods down the sides. Each missile pod carries hundreds of missiles. The ship is capable of unleashing a rapid barrage of missiles when turned side-on to an enemy ship/battle group which can quickly rip all but the most heavily armoured/shielded ship to pieces.
Missile pods reinforced and covered by heavy doors on the surface of the ship to prevent accidental detonation of missile payload.
Heavy magnetic cannon (linear coilgun/railgun hybrid) runs parallel to the fusion reactor. Slow rate of fire but fires devastating ferrous-tungsten projectiles capable of severely damaging enemy ships and overloading shields. Can fire in short, fast bursts of up to three rounds at reduced power.
When firing the main cannon, the engines flare to compensate for the recoil.
No unnecessarily advanced equipment. Standard engines and hyperdrive. No asgard teleporters etc.
You may want to reconsider the physical design, it doesn't look all that great. I won't comment on the specs or anything since it's all pseudo-science/sci-fi.

Designed pragmatically for cost and efficiency
Able to be mass produced quickly at low cost
No shields would be extremely unwise as it is sure to be destroyed in its first engagement.
