Original Starship Design Thread

how many personnel does it hold?

Normal Personnel : 50p consisting of :
- 30 engineers/operators for the whole 3 treatment station (highly automated)
- 10 scientists for specific knowledge about gas giants and hydrogen
- 10 operators for the docking/storage station (highly automated too)

Maximum possible : 200p (~20p for each cargo ship x 6 dockings arms + a little more just in case)

Research labs available : 17
- 5 on each treatment station
- 2 on the the central station (since it is the only part able to travel in space, they need as much room as possible)

PS : now thinking about hydrogen + treatment plant + cargo ship + gas giant + SG1 (or SGA teams) = lot of dangerous situations. I should think of escape pods or at least rooms for small ships (Jumper?/ Tel'tak?)...

That was my first idea. But what if it is caught in a skirmish with a battleship? It is built for exploration and exploitation but not really to fight...

On the other hand with its drive it is capable to move easily in Jupiter-like planets (with storms the size of Earth!) so it can maybe rely on evasive maneuvers.... BTW I have not yet designed a small ship (fighter or Puddle Jumper like) so I'll stick with this idea.

This is a model I started for an ubership I'm designing and I wanted to see what y'all thought of it:



It's the first ship I've started in a long time and I still have a lot of detailing to add. I know the basic design is a bit weird but is it okay? Worth continuing?

I kinda like it. A little less bulky and it would be fine.
It seems like it was build around a central huge canon. Am I right?

The ship is supposed to have pretty much the largest power system of any ship, so I thought a ship like that should look really bulky. And yeah, it's build around a pretty big cannon, but most of the bulk is supposed to be because of the massive power system.

Wow Zake, that looks F***ing great. I'd get rid of the handle bars though, then it would look like something straight out of Halo. Green
