Well that's what I was thinking, one or two shields which are independent of the main shields should be enough. .

It would have to stay out of enemy weapons range though.

well i was thinking a shiled inside a shield, and if the main shield started to fail or lose power then a siren would go off ofr hte crew to make it back inside the ship before it totally fails

That sounds like a good idea.

Or you could have a lift type system as sea carriers do. (or Galactica)

armament: 4 forward firing rail guns
2 missile/ drone launchers

note: all weapons can be stored internally when not in use

thanks... that cockpit was a bit frustrating since i had to experiment with it first before getting it right...

i just hope that one day I'd be as good as you guys

I've spent many frustrating nights trying to model fighters like yours... gave up after a while.

Find it much easier and fun to make big ships with big guns.

But Vray will come in handy for quick renders, now I know where to get it

2 180 mm forward firing rail guns [under slung] (can fire kinetic or naq enhanced explosive rounds depending on loadout)

12 dorsal 30 mm anti-air rail guns
6 ventral 20 mm anti-personal/anti ground vehicle rail guns

Defensive systems:
Primary) asgard shield systems
Secondary) trinium/titanium/tungsten carbide hull armor (ablative)

Okay, except thats ALOT of missiles and rail-guns for soemthing that is smaller than a al'kesh.

I would go for something like:
2 forward mounted 30mm Rail-guns
1 twin barrel 12.7mm rail-gun turret

2 Missile clusters, forward facing, each holds 8 Air-Air missile with optional nuclear warheads
1 Missile/Bomb bay, holding 2 Long-range Tactical Nuclear weapons

it's supposed to be a short range mid to heavy bomber with close air support capibility so maybe if i made it a littli bigger?
