Since space ships are basicly boxes in space, and since they are expensive to operate, maybe they would get big business to sponsor them....

    The Walmart

    Heros-R-Us

    Future Ship(Future Shop)

    The Krispy Kreme

    Gracie

A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."

Considering the coffee situation in Atlantis, don't forget the "Starbuck's".

The story of my life. I finally find a city like this, intact, deserted for ten thousand years, probably contains hundreds of patents that I can exploit--and I'm going to die. I can appreciate dramatic irony as much as the next person, but this is pushing it a bit. --Max Eilerson, Crusade "War Zone"

You act as if western civilization only inherited stuff from the greek, how about:

                Excalibur
                Gawain
                Lancelot
                Galahad
                Don Quijote
                El Cid

                Or maybe everybody's favorite superhero:

How can you compare Excalibur with Orca, come on which inspires more fear an unbreakable sword or free willy, well actually none because aliens would have no idea what we are talking about but morale would definately be batter at the USS Excalibur than at the USS Free Willy

I actually meant it for the Orca from the Dino De Laurentis film "Orca" (which was a rip-off of Peter Benchly's Jaws). Not a great movie, but that was one evil, spiteful Orca!.

I like Excaliber, but been there done that in the Star Trek genre. Others before on this thread mentioned names like 'the Merlin' or 'the Wizard'. I kind of like the Sorcerer, but that reminds people of Harry Potter to much. The Gandolf might work for a ships name?.
