    11x06 - Dangerous Influence

SG-1 is called in to investigate the appearance of a Sky Cruiser above the planet P7D-666, but instead discovers a sinister new influence on the locals...
    Spoiler:
Col. Mitchell stands in front of the Stargate in the 'gate room of the SGC compound, wearing the usual black SG-1 uniform. An FN-P90 sits comfortably in his hands and a black baseball cap covers his hair. Panning out, it is revealed that he stands among the rest of his team. Major Hailey stands patiently waiting for the Stargate to lock and activate whilst Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran (having joined SG-1 after the events of "Probe") engage in a petty conversation.

Through the speaker, SG-1 is able to hear Sergeant Walter Harriman call that the seventh chevron has locked before they are amazed by the kawooshing of energy as blue waves shimmer outwards, leaving behind a rippling surface. Over the speaker, General Jack O'Neill wishes the team luck, telling them to report back if they find anything. Speaking through his radio, Mitchell tells O'Neill that the team will do their best. With that, Mitchell strides up the metallic ramp and enters the puddle, disappearing. Hailey follows closely, with Vala and Daniel wondering calmly at the back.

When he emerges on the other side, Mitchell finds himself surrounded by craters and valleys of old dusty rocks, sitting under a grey sky hiding an ancient sun. The Stargate is in the middle of a particularly large hole in the ground, with steps built into the side so that visitors can escape it. Mitchell turns to his newly emerged team, reminding them of the mission... A Sky Cruiser has been spotted by locals exploring above the surface of the world, and SG-1 needs to try and locate it.

Vala tells Mitchell that he's been through the mission briefing three times already, so it's getting old, to which Hailey replies that it's better to be prepared than caught off guard. After all, the last time Vala was completely caught of guard, she ended up watching the destruction of an entire village ("Embers"). Daniel tells Vala that they have to take the mission seriously, as a sighting of a Sky Cruiser suggests that their new threat is on the move again. Realizing she has no choice but to agree, Vala leads the way towards the built in steps and begins her ascent to the top of the hole/crater.

Meanwhile, in a small gathering of tents nearby, locals - who look like normal humans but for the fact that the entire irises of their eyes are red - are sitting around a dinner table feasting on a massive meal of a creature that looks a lot like a pig. The locals, who shall now be known as the Tribals, look like savages, but the alien energy weapons that surround them all shows otherwise. The leader of the Tribals, known as Uwan, sits at the head of the table, eating the head of the pig-like creature.

One of Uwan's many wives, Lyric, asks Uwan whether he is enjoying the 'hammite' meal that she has prepared. Uwan responds by telling her she has done a good job, but she has not shown herself worthy to deserve inheritance to the throne in case he dies; she shall, in his own words, have to wait longer before she eventually kills him. Sighing, Lyric pulls out the eye of the hammite, telling Uwan that it contains poison. She drops it to the ground and stamps on it, causing Uwan to laugh.

Just as Uwan is giving to give his wife a clap on the shoulder, one of the many Tribals suddenly screams and jumps from the table, his scream more aggressive than a cry for help. Uwan asks Lyric what is wrong with the man, but she has no time to respond, as the Tribal grabs an energy weapon and fires! The blast only just misses Lyric, hitting another Tribal instead, blasting a hole through his head. Lyric screams for Uwan to duck, grabbing her own energy blaster and firing it at the Tribal, killing him. She turns to Uwan angrily, telling him that this has been the third attack of the week; something is very clearly wrong. Hopefully an SG team will arrive here soon...

As this conversation happens, SG-1 wonders through the edges of high valleys of grey rock, being careful to stop themselves from falling as they struggle to keep a constantly large pace. Suddenly, some rock falls out from under Daniel's foot, and he screams as he almost falls down one of the valleys. Luckily for him, Vala has a free hand, so she grabs him by the arm and launches him upwards. Deadly serious, Vala tells Daniel to be more careful; she once watched a man fall down one of these valleys, and it killed him.

Reaching the end of the valley edges and reaching flat land, SG-1 continues to walk. Daniel and Vala are having a conversation at the back of the team, but the focus is on Mitchell and Hailey as they talk about the fact that the threat of the Sky Cruisers to this world is unusual. Hailey points out the fact that the Sky Cruisers targeted Chulak, so it shows that they clearly have the capability to decide the worlds they strike against, so striking against a barren world with nothing here makes little to no sense.

Mitchell disagrees with this view, pointing out the fact that this world - P7D-666 - is near the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, meaning that it would be the perfect place for the Sky Cruisers to hide whilst they plan invasion. He says that the SGC's only mistake in coming to this world is not bringing the Labyrinth or another ship with them (it is hinted that the Odyssey is under repairs after the battle of Chulak - "Incendiary, Part 2" - and that the Daedalus is on the way back to the Pegasus Galaxy).

Hailey offers another even more interesting alternative, suggesting that the Sky Cruisers may have visited this world because there is something interesting to find here... Perhaps an alien weapon or the remains of an Ancient city? Mitchell tells Hailey that this theory is unlikely, as the SGC has had this world searched through and through multiple times; it was how they met the Tribals and created an alliance with them. The pair continue to chat before they are suddenly disturbed by a screaming Daniel.

Walking to join him, they see he is looking down yet another crater that has formed in the ground, only this crater is home to something very unusual... A strange and slim shaped alien ship sits in the middle of the crater, damaged by battle and sparking energy that appears to be green in colour. A small green shield sits around the ship, occasionally flickering on or off. Vala asks Daniel - and the rest of the team - whether he believes this ship could belong to the operators of the Sky Cruisers, but Hailey answers before Daniel can, saying it is unlikely as the designs are totally different.

SG-1 is about to descend down the crater when they turn to face Lyric, holding a blaster gun to Mitchell's head. She tells them not to move, but quickly recognises them, lowering her weapon and telling the team that it is great to see them again. Mitchell shakes Lyric's hand, asking her immediately about the Sky Cruiser she saw. She tells Mitchell that it was exploring the surface for approximately an hour several days ago, before it eventually crawled back into the sky. Suddenly, there was a flash of light nearby, and this ship lying in the crater went flying, hitting the ground and causing the dent.

Mitchell asks Lyric to lead the team back to the Tribal camp, but first asks whether she has seen what she intended to when coming to look at the ship. Lyric responds by saying that she has seen all she can, and truly believes that the dilemma she is in will lead to her returning to this ship eventually, so that she may destroy it. As they walk back towards the camp, Vala asks Lyric to go specify what 'dilemma' the camp is exactly facing, to which Lyric responds by telling the team that members of the camp appear to be killing each other. The team is clearly disturbed by this.

In the camp, Uwan is sitting with yet another one of his wives trying out yet more food. He spits out a small dart hidden inside, laughing at his wife and asking her whether that is the best she can do (clearly all of Uwan's wives are trying to kill him to take his wealth). Before he can answer, SG-1 appear around a small mound of gravel and dirt that has been piled up to great a fence for the camp. Uwan rushes up from his bench and grabs Mitchell by the hand, shaking it. He tells Mitchell that his help is greatly needed; ever since the arrival of the Sky Cruiser, the camp has been disturbed by unexpected killers.

As Mitchell joins Uwan on the bench, and the rest of SG-1 is ushered off by Lyric to meet other Tribal friends, Uwan informs Mitchell gravely that the Tribals have occasionally had contact with the Lucian Alliance in order to trade with them. This shocks Mitchell slightly, but he is ever the more shocked to learn that one of the Lucian Alliance representatives - Kipper'a ("Embers") - was on this world when the Sky Cruiser appeared, meaning he could identify it as the ship that attacked Chulak. Mitchell asks Uwan why he didn't ask the Lucian Alliance to head to this world and investigate, to which Uwan responds by telling Mitchell that he does not trust the Alliance, but he does trust the Tau'ri.

Meanwhile, in a tent in the camp, the rest of SG-1 are just getting comfortable on some animal skin mats as they begin to talk to Lyric when the tent entrance parts to reveal... Kipper'a! Lyric asks Kipper'a whether he has finally finished resting from the feast the night before as Vala stares on in total shock. Kipper'a is not so surprised to see Vala, casually asking Lyric why the Tribals have invited the woman who led him into the hands of the Tau'ri and lost him his reputation. As if she is reading between the lines, Vala suddenly smiles, launching to her feet and giving Kipper'a a hug, asking him how he's been. Kipper'a tells her that he has been fine, and has been trying to convince the Alliance that the Tau'ri are not that bad after all.

Sitting on a mat next to SG-1 (excluding Mitchell), Kipper'a asks Lyric whether she is willing to discuss the Alliance trade deals yet, telling her that the valuable minerals of this world would be worth even more weapons than her people could ever imagine. Daniel buts in, telling Lyric that they should probably be discussing the attacks that have been occurring recently, instead of discussing a future that they may never get to see come true if this case cannot be solved. Kipper'a reluctantly agrees, telling SG-1 that he tried to convince the Lucian Alliance to bring Al'kesh to this world to investigate, but the people refused.

Meanwhile, outside of the tent, a Tribal staggers forwards, looking mad as he dribbles from the mouth and struggles with a massive electrified knife that sits uncomfortably in his right hand. Approaching the tent ever faster, he begins to spin the blade, enjoying the sound of its buzz. He's about to whip the entrance open when suddenly... he's hit by rounds of fire, coming from an FN-P90! His body bends backwards as bullets hit his chest and stomach, splattering body ferociously. Then he drops to the ground dead.

      Part 2 of "Dangerous Influence"...

      Spoiler:

We pan around to reveal Mitchell, standing besides Uwan, with a look of horror spread around his face; he heard the whiz of the blade and launched into action before anyone else could flinch. Avoiding the body, he goes to step into the tent to check that everyone is all right, but instead finds himself face to face with a Zat. Kipper'a stands before him, looking suspiciously at the Colonel as he tells the military men that he heard an unusual whiz, and then gunfire. Mitchell tell Kipper'a that he heard the whiz too, and now a man's dead because of it.

Several minutes later, SG-1 sits around the main meal table at the centre of the camp, with Kipper'a, Uwan and Lyric sitting besides them, as several of Uwan's wives deliver food to the table. It is humorous to watch Lyric react to the wives with disgust, and them react to her likewise; they all believe themselves to be the only woman deserving of Uwan, even if Lyric is the most practical. Mitchell begins the discussion by telling the group that the ship that crashed needs to be investigated immediately, so he tells Hailey to take Vala and Kipper'a with her. Daniel and himself will set up a lock down throughout the camp, so that nobody can begin to fight each other. Uwan and Lyric agree that it is a good idea, but Lyric demands she gets to go to the ship with the others.

Collecting scientific equipment from his tent, Kipper'a emerges several minutes after the previous conversation near the edge of the camp with a rucksack on his back and a holster attached to his belt. Hailey, Vala and Lyric are already waiting, with Lyric wearing a light looking cloak that only slightly conceals one of the electrified daggers that we saw the crazed Tribal wield. Lyric notes that Kipper'a likes to take his time getting ready, but Kipper'a responds by saying that he was getting all of his Alliance scientific gear, so that he too could make an analysis of the crashed ship.

They leave the camp - and the mounds of dirt that serve as a wall - before heading out across the gritty, gravel-like land. As they walk, Hailey asks Lyric how life has been in the camp since the first attack, to which Lyric responds that everybody has been on edge, out of fear that yet another attempt on Uwan's life will be made. Hailey points out that the Tribals 'gone mad' had also targeted her, and makes the suggestion that perhaps whatever is causing these events is trying to cause a war. Lyric is not so sure on the suggestion, but is not too willing to dismiss it.

Back in the camp, Daniel and Uwan are chatting around the main table about the current situation that is occurring whilst Mitchell checks to make sure that everyone is where they should be. However, as Uwan begins to explain to Daniel that it is possible that one of his wives has set up these attacks as a method of trying to kill Uwan, Daniel notices a small metallic orb hover past one of the tents before disappearing behind another one.

He rushes to his feet, asking Uwan whether he too saw the orb, but Uwan responds by saying that he saw nothing. As Daniel watches, the orb hovers past yet another attempt, not yet realizing that it has been noticed. Daniel doesn't give it a chance, grabbing his FN-P90 and firing several rounds at it. The bullets hit the case of the orb with a pang, before the orb drops to the ground, a green light illuminating where an eye should be slowly fading away.

Mitchell rushes out of a tent towards Daniel, asking the Doctor what the gunfire was for, but Daniel simply points at the orb, before approaching it and suggesting that the eye-like centre of the machine looks remarkably like a camera. Mitchell is shocked, asking Daniel whether he believes that this camp is being watched, or worse... filmed? Daniel responds that this is possible; the camera could even be used to scan surroundings for the ship and decide who will become the next maddened victim. Uwan is clearly terrified by this thought, telling Mitchell that the lock-down must be ended and the best Tribal Warriors must be sent out to locate more orbs. Mitchell and Daniel don't disagree.

Meanwhile, Hailey, Vala and company continue to travel across the horrible surface, with the crater that the ship lives inside looking ever closer. Vala points at it, asking Kipper'a whether that's the ship the Tribals noticed hitting the surface; it wouldn't be good if they went exploring the wrong one. Just before Kipper'a is able to bring confirmation, he pulls out a gun from his holster and fires, causing Lyric to jump. Hailey is not fazed, asking Kipper'a how long he has noticed the orb that has been following them. Lyric asks 'what orb', to which Vala responds that a metallic sphere as been stalking them since they left the camp.

Heading towards the almost shattered remains that sits gathered across the ground, Hailey points out the camera lens before pulling out her own equipment from her vest. One of them appears to be an Alteran Scanner, which she has modified herself (Hailey must have the ATA gene). She places the scanner near the orb and activates it, getting strange readings. Hailey says that this orb appears to be emitting some sort of EM field, set to a certain level that it's more than possible that it is effecting and taking control of brain waves. Kipper'a asks Hailey whether this means it is the orbs that are causing attacks in the camp, to which Hailey confirms that it is highly likely.

Placing the scanner back in her vest, Hailey stamps hard on the remains of the orb, destroying it, before pointing out that the orb lens was the same colour as the sparks being emitted from the alien ship. It is highly likely that the orbs come from the ship, and they were sent out to search the area after the ship was destroyed in a battle with the Sky Cruisers. Vala agrees with this idea, but asks whether she thinks the ship has any more orbs, and whether they could still be manipulating the Tribals.

As if in response to this question, as the group gets ever closer to the crashed ship, they watch as a small hole appears in the ship exterior, shooting out two orbs. The group quickly aim their guns at the orb and go to open fire, but the orbs are fast, rising up above the crater and dancing as they avoid bullets and energy beams. Lyric pulls out her electrified sword, taking a swing at the orb, but her blade misses, instead striking down on the ground.

Back in the camp, Daniel, Mitchell and Uwan are watching as a group of Tribal Warriors head out to look for more orbs. Adjusting our position, we now see from behind a tent another orb, hovering and scanning the area with its camera lens. Suddenly, the lens turns red for a second, before returning to green. The orb then begins to crawl ever closer to the trio, and we see that all three look suddenly very suspicious of each other.

As if synchronised, all three men suddenly throw up their weapons and aim it at each other, backing away slightly to form a triangle. We focus on each of them, looking crazed and desperate for violence. Mitchell tells Daniel and Uwan to drop their weapons - he might spare the pair if they do - to which Daniel responds by telling the SG-1 leader that dropping his weapon will never happen. Uwan tells the pair to stop bickering, before he aims his weapon at Daniel and fires, just missing the archaeologist, who ducks and throws himself behind some crates.

Confused Tribals emerge as Mitchell opens fire on Uwan, nearly hitting the Tribal leader, who is able to take cover behind a turned over table in time to avoid death. Mitchell screams angrily, before pulling out a grenade and taking out the pin. There is a moment of disturbed silence as everyone realizes that Mitchell may be about to kill them all, before a round of energy blasting is heard, and the sound of an orb dropping and smashing is heard.

As if nothing has happened, Mitchell puts the pin back into the grenade and places it back in his vest, helping Uwan and Daniel to their feet. With the shattered orb now lying in the centre of the camp - with an armed Tribal who destroyed the device standing behind it - it is very clear that the orbs are responsible for the attack. Hopefully, there are no more orbs remaining...

And the final part of "Dangerous Influence"...

        Spoiler:

Back by the crater caused by the crashed ship, Hailey, Vala and Kipper'a continue to fire heavily at the orbs, as Lyric swings her electrified sword around. This time she is able to find a home, making contact with the metal and severing it in half. Sparks of green are emitted in every direction as the orb drops to the ground, and being distracted, Vala is able to shoot down the second. Approaching the ship cautiously, the group watches as the ship shield lowers and two figures emerge. They are green and lizard like in appearance, wearing black skin tight suits and holding massive guns in their hands.

They do not seem worried by the group, but do listen when Hailey shouts down at them, asking them why they've tried to use the Tribals as weapons of murder. The figures simply respond with laughter, before responding that it was entertainment, this response shocking the group. The figures explain that they are Scientists, and believing themselves to be trapped on this world, as they are not willing to leave their ship behind, they thought it would be entertaining to engage in a little science experiment on the Tribals of this world. One of the figures says that he knew the Tribals would be too primitive to understand what was occurring.

In anger, Lyric lifts up her sword and throws it down at one of the figures, striking him through the head and killing him. The other figure goes to open fire but is quickly shot down by Kipper'a, killing it. Hailey shouts at the pair, asking them why they just did what they did, and telling them that it was wrong to simply outright kill the aliens. Lyric responds by telling Hailey that these aliens tried to kill her people and cause rebellion because it kept them entertained and helped them to enjoy their 'stay'; as a result, they deserved death. Neither Hailey nor Vala has no comment to this.

Almost an entire day later, SG-1 stands in the camp totally geared up, as Mitchell gives Uwan a handshake of goodbye, before telling the Tribal leader that he is fairly certain that they destroyed all of the remaining orbs (it is implied that there were many). Uwan thanks SG-1 for their efforts, but tells them that in the end, they were not really necessary. Mitchell agrees, although he says that he is always happy to support and old friend.

As Mitchell talks to Uwan - and Hailey and Daniel speak to Lyric as they sit on the bench - Vala talks to Kipper'a. The pair exchange a hug, before Hailey tells Kipper'a to look after himself. She then tells him that if he ever considers leaving the Lucian Alliance, he should give her a call, as she's 'always available'. Kipper'a joking tells her that he will, and that he might have to if the trade with the Tribals does not go as well as he hoped. After all, the talks have had a rather tough start.

With the goodbyes now done and dusted, SG-1 gives one last wave to the Tribals before they turn and leave the camp, talking as they walk towards the Stargate about who they think these aliens were. Vala asks them whether they think these aliens are in fact the pilots of the Sky Cruisers, and whether this was a distraction to throw SG-1 off of their scent. Daniel responds by telling her that this theory is highly unlikely, as it would make no sense for the Sky Cruiser to reveal themselves after mysteriously disappearing if it were to set up a trap. Mitchell and Vala agree, but the whole team decides that when they return to the SGC, it is time to bring up the issue of the Sky Cruisers again. These ships cannot simply be left to invade the very edges of the galaxy.

Meanwhile, back in the camp, Uwan sits down to enjoy a nice meal that looks remarkably like a Pie. Lyric stands besides him, smiling with her arms folded as he scoops up some of the pastry with his hand and stuffs it in his mouth. He is about to swallow when he spits out a needle with a solid green coating. Noticing it as poison dart, Uwan tells Lyric that she's going to have to try harder to put an end to his life, before he digs into the pie again. From the humorous reaction of Lyric, we can tell that the chance that the whole pie is poisoned is very high...

Something to get you readers (who don't seem very willing to speak) excited about...

A guest star in the upcoming episode "The Youngest Generation" is none other than Teal'c himself, in a single scene that I'm hoping everyone will enjoy. The episode will also heavily feature Colonel Carter and a new character, known simply as Captain Jones. Expect this episode to be a long one.

Stay tuned for "The Youngest Generation", airing very soon...

              11x07 - The Youngest Generation

When the Sky Cruisers attack a beautiful world and begin to eliminate their fleet, a desperate father sends his baby son through the Stargate and into the arms of the SGC...

              Spoiler:
A view from space of a beautiful blue and green planet, similar in many ways to Earth, if not more peaceful and less polluted, lets us know that this planet is under attack. About ten Sky Cruisers hover above the world, raining down fire in the form of the blue energy bolts formed by their turrets and the massive single white beam formed by their more powerful weapon, to be known now as a 'destructor'. The world takes the strikes harmlessly, although occasionally spots of green will turn to spots of orange and black.

Other ships, unrecognisable to us but still beautiful in design, battle the Sky Cruisers; there are about six of these ships. These ships, which are coated in a full layer of a strange shinning white material, are much larger than the Sky Cruisers, but are clearly not designed for action. These ships, to put it simply, are being annihilated - it is only a matter of time before they are destroyed.

This is demonstrated when one of the white ships attempts to flank a Sky Cruiser, hovering behind the ship and firing its own red energy blasts. The blasts hit the back of the Sky Cruiser harmlessly, but the blasts of energy from the Sky Cruiser destructor tears the ship in half, spilling its neat interior and flooding space with burnt remains of crew members. Several more blasts from the Sky Cruiser turrets cause both sections of the ship to explode, leaving no evidence behind.

On the surface of the world, in a neat and highly advanced building that appears to be some sort of hospital, a worried husband - wearing short white gowns that seem to be made of the same material as the ships - runs down a neat corridor, avoiding hovering beds that are floating into hospital rooms holding the remains of victims from the attack above. The husband seems to have been crying, but he has calmed down now, and we can see that he knows he has a priority higher than anything else.

Eventually, he reaches a room in the hospital. He slips past a few doctors who are debating whether to evacuate the hospital and leave the patients and enters the small interior of the room. This room is quite well kept, and is by no means not hygienic, but it somehow does carry a grotty feel to it. On a bed in the middle of the room the husbands' wife lies asleep - snoring - with a baby, his baby, in her arms. The husband is as sneaky as he can be, slipping the baby out of his wife's arms and taking it in his own. Somehow, the baby does not stir.

He gives his wife a kiss on the head and prays that his wife may one day forgive him if she is ever to survive this attack, before he turns and leaves the room, carrying the ever sleeping baby in his arms. Once he has been able to get around the arguing doctors, the husband sprints down the corridors, narrowly avoiding more and more patients who get in his way, and hover beds travelling endlessly through corridors. The husband never slows, knowing that the life of his baby is in his hands.

As he finally exits the hospital and finds himself in a futuristic yet battered street, he turns in time to watch the hospital be struck by an energy turret from a Sky Cruiser, causing the hospital to explode in a flash of light, leaving a crater and flames in its place. Screams fill the streets as civilians realize that their injured loved ones have been killed, and the husband stands still for a moment out of due respect to his wife, who has been killed in the blast. The baby screams and cries in his arms, as if it is mourning. The husband looks down at it in sorrow before he turns and runs again.

The husband picks up pace as he curves around futuristic building after futuristic building (in the background, a massive tower collapses after its base is struck by a blast), avoiding the dust of devastation. Civilians struggle in their hover vehicles, trying to swerve out of the way of approaching destruction, but they fail miserably, instead hit by turrets and slaughtered. It has become very clear that no one will survive this attack; the people of the world will very soon be extinct.

Reaching a large complex that has been hit by a blast and has caved in, the husband crawls over rubble into the remains of a corridor, as pure and white as the ships above. He runs, carrying dust with him, and his child cries ever louder. As he runs towards the door leading into yet another room, the husband and father gives his child a kiss on the head, demanding his child to return to this world when he is fully grown, in order to save it. The child looks on at his father in confusion.

Then the husband opens the door for the room to reveal... A Stargate! It sits on a ramp, like in the SGC, with a star map sitting behind it with all the known addresses of the galaxy. The husband approaches the Stargate, and we see that there is no DHD. The husband stares at the 'gate with intent; the baby stares with confusion, as it no longer cries. And off of this moment of hope, in the middle of a devastated battlefield, we fade out into darkness.

Meanwhile, in the SGC, General Jack O'Neill sits in his office, reading a report written by Col. Mitchell, who currently sits in front of him. Jack is questioning him on the events that occurred on P7D-666 ("Dangerous Influence") and is asking Mitchell whether he felt it was a good decision to work with Kipper'a - a member of the Lucian Alliance - when Earth is officially at war with the group. Mitchell responds by saying he thinks it was, as it helped to form a relationship with Kipper'a which may soon end the tensions between the two peoples. Jack is just about to ask a different question when an alarm comes to life. The pair spring to their feet and exit the office.

Entering the control room, O'Neill asks Sergeant Walter Harriman what on earth is going on, to which Walter replies that the Stargate has dialled up without any of the usual dialling sequences, and that he can't seem to close the Iris. Mitchell asks Walter whether he believes the Stargate has been 'hacked' but Walter says it is unlikely, as he has control over all other systems. Jack tells Walter to do all he can to close the Iris, as Earth could be in intense danger.

In the 'Gate Room, armed guards have their weapons aimed at the open event horizon, ready for the action that they believe is clearly approaching. Captain Jones, the highest ranking officer in the Gate Room, orders her men to be ready to fire the moment the threat enters through the wormhole, as they are the first line defence of the planet. The soldiers gulp in anticipation, but then tighten up positions - they are more than ready for the fight that is approaching.

Up in the control room, Walter tells Jack and Mitchell that the Stargate computer system says that something is travelling through the wormhole at this very moment, and so the chance of battle is increasing by the second. Mitchell turns to the General and tells him that he's going to radio SG-1 to the Gate Room to provide Captain Jones with assistance; she's going to need it. O'Neill gives Mitchell permission, so Mitchell leaves the control room and speaks through his radio.

Meanwhile, in Major Jennifer Hailey's quarters, Hailey is lying on her bed listening to soft-rock music whilst she throws a baseball against a wall continuously. It is clear that this is a habit from the dents on her wall that have formed from the never ending aggression of the ball. If we look closely, a Science book can be seen opened on her desk, again proving that Hailey is incredibly intelligent. She hums along with the song until she hears her radio turn on.

Turning off the music, Hailey grabs her radio and listens as Mitchell informs her that the SGC is under threat, and that the whole of SG-1 is needed armed at the 'Gate Room as soon as possible. Hailey responds that she'll be there right away, before sticking the radio into a pocket in her SGC green overalls and throwing the baseball down onto the floor. She quickly folds the corner of her book before closing it and running out of her room.

She reaches the armoury at an immense pace to find multiple soldiers grabbing hold of FN-P90s and Zats, before running towards the 'Gate Room. Dr Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran are the next in line, grabbing their own P90s and pistols for good measure. Vala spots Hailey and throws her a P90, asking the Major whether she has any clue on what is happening. Daniel tells the pair that he suspects something is coming through the Stargate, and that Earth Security is at risk.

Running down the corridor as a team, SG-1 eventually reaches the massive blast door which is opened to reveal will the Stargate inside. The blue horizon can be seen, as can shocked guards who were assigned to guard the gate. Hailey, Vala and Daniel throw themselves into the room with guns raised to see... Captain Jones holding a baby, and Mitchell and O'Neill standing besides her, totally confused. Daniel turns to Vala and makes a quiet comment that this is a first, before approaching Jones and the Baby.

Around half an hour later, the baby sits in a small basket with comfortable little clothes and a blanket covering it as it sleeps. It sits on the briefing room of the SGC, with O'Neill and SG-1 sitting around the table, as well as Colonel Samantha Carter and Captain Jones. O'Neill asks Jones to explain what exactly happened in the Stargate room, to which Jones responds by telling O'Neill that a baby travelled through the Stargate on a small hovering metal disk, so in response she scooped it up into her arms. Jack thanks her, before telling her he needed to hear the story again to make sure what he saw wasn't signs of him going mad.

Part 2 of "The Youngest Generation"...

                Spoiler:
Jack dismisses Jones, so Jones gives O'Neill a quick salute before getting up to her feet and leaving the briefing room. With Jones now gone, O'Neill asks the team what they make of this, to which Hailey responds by saying it's insane; a baby has just travelled through the Stargate, and there seems to be no way of discovering where it came from or who its parents are, or how the parents disabled the I.D.C. Mitchell agrees with Hailey but also points out that there could be two purposes behind this baby being sent which are that the baby was either not safe on its own world and this world was considered safe for it, or the baby has been sent to 'spy on them'.

Vala tells Mitchell that the spying idea is totally ridiculous, and that it is clear that the baby was sent to the SGC because the parents believed that this was the safest place for it, to which Daniel responds by saying that Vala must be right, as that is the only response that can possibly make sense. Carter responds by saying that she agrees with the pair, and that she had Dr Lam run some tests on the baby, and she can confirm that it is in fact a living, breathing child. Carter then asks Jack why she's been called into the meeting, to which Jack responds that he wants her to care for the child for a while whilst the Pentagon decides what to do with it. Carter tells O'Neill that this is a big responsibility, but Jack says she has no choice; no one in SG-1 can care for the child as they have a mission in the next hour.

An hour later, Sam sits in her quarters with the baby sitting on her bed (now revealed to be a boy). Carter is struggling to put the baby in a new nappy, and the baby is squirming to try and get away. Carter begins to get angry, muttering that it's not fair to fling the job of looking after a child at her, but when she looks back at the baby it gives her a grin, causing Carter to smile. She says that looking after this baby may not be so bad after all, before she tells him that she's going to call him 'Trouble' because he's causing a hell of a lot of trouble for the SGC.

In the Gate Room, SG-1 stands fully geared in their off-world uniform as the Stargate spins to life - five chevrons have engaged. Mitchell watches as Captain Jones and her guards look wearily at the massive ring, so he approaches them and promises to not bring back a baby with him this time. Jones tells Mitchell that bringing a baby back will be fine, as long as hostiles aren't brought back. Mitchell gives Jones a pat on the shoulder, before he turns and strides back towards the Stargate, which has now activated.

SG-1 travels through the event horizon, arriving in the middle of a beautiful village, with dark red skies and violet grass. Small houses that look suited to Victorian England spurt out of the ground, letting out rays of smoke from their chimneys, and the sun that normally sits at the centre of the sky during day is beginning to set. Vala comments on the fact that she'd been told by Kipper'a that nights on PB1-356 - otherwise known as Biathola - are incredible. Daniel tells Vala that for once Kipper'a was right, as SG-1 begins to walk towards the village centre.

Reaching the centre of the village, the objective of this mission becomes clear, as two opposing 'armies' of farmers stand head to head, pitchforks raised ready for a fight. One of the leaders of the 'farming armies' declares that the other group have stolen all of the good land that could have been converted into industry, and that as a result of this, the other group must pay with their blood... The objective of this mission is very clear now: SG-1 has been sent in to keep the peace and stop a massive bloodshed.

Mitchell steps forwards so that he is in between both 'armies' before he turns and looks at both of them for an equal amount of time. He then tells them that fighting will get these people nowhere, and that they need to sit down and have a real discussion about the obvious issues here. The people disagree, telling SG-1 that they were called in to support the truly right side, not to force peace on them. Vala laughs at this, telling the farmers that SG-1 would never take a side on a matter like this, but Daniel tells her that they have before...

                Begin Flashback...

SG-1 stands on a planet remarkably similar to their own, in the middle of a field. These events must be set before "Embers", as Hailey is not on the team, and Carter and Teal'c are still with SG-1. They are separated, with Carter, Daniel and Vala standing with one group of farmers, and Mitchell and Teal'c standing with another. A man holding a pig stands in the middle.

Over the shouting that is coming from both angry groups, Carter is trying to convince Mitchell that the pig must belong to the group she is standing with, as the pig's mother came from this clan. Teal'c calmly informs Carter that she is wrong about this; the pig's mother was stolen from the group that he is supporting. Mitchell nods in agreement, and the argument looks as if it will continue until Vala screams for everyone to be silent.

                ...End Flashback

An hour after SG-1 arrived on Biathola, the conflict is still brewing, as the leaders of both armies sit starring at each other coldly from across the table they are seated on. Although neither whole armies can be found in the inn that SG-1 is currently sat in, the team still look overwhelmed from the aggression that is on display as they sit together on a separate table to the angry leaders. Vala comes back from a bar holding a tray with four drinks on it, which she plunks down on the table. The drink appears to be some kind of alcohol, and it is clear from Daniel's reaction as he drinks it that it is not very pleasant.

With it being the perfect time to talk, Mitchell asks the team on their thoughts about the baby that has come through the Stargate, asking whether any of them could possibly take a guess at the world it comes from. Daniel tells Mitchell that he's assumed that the baby comes from a highly advanced world, but they must be facing an incredible threat to be willing to send a baby away. Hailey says what the team is thinking, asking whether she thinks that the world was under attack from Sky Cruisers, but Vala tells her that the chances of that are incredibly unlikely; intelligence suggests the Sky Cruisers haven't made any attacks in weeks.

On Earth, Carter is taking a shower in her personal quarters (showers and bathrooms have been added to quarters since the days of Season 10). She steps out of her shower and wraps a towel around her, before beginning to brush her hair. She is reassured that the baby is okay as she cannot hear him crying, but then she hears the voice of a child, chatting away. Slightly nervous, Carter quickly grabs the pistol from her holster, which is dumped on the floor with the rest of her clothes.

She moves forwards trying to be as silent as possible, before she reaches the door, kicks it open and aims her gun. A child - a boy looking about five years of age - screams in response, jumping onto the bed and asking Carter why she is trying to scare him. Carter keeps her gun raised, asking the boy who he is and what he's done with the baby, which makes the child smile. Looking Carter in the eyes, he asks her why she doesn't recognise him, before he tells her that his name is Trouble.

Back in the Gate Room and about another hour later, Captain Jones watches as the Stargate activates to reveal SG-1 stepping through the event horizon. Mitchell seems wary as he steps forwards and asks Jones whether there have been any updates on the baby. Jones looks deadly serious as she tells SG-1 that the baby is no longer so little; it is now a teenager. The whole team seems shocked by this, so Daniel asks whether Dr Lam has taken blood tests to confirm that this is the same being, to which Jones responds by saying she has. A baby has grown up in less than a day.

Mitchell is quick to rush to O'Neill's office, hammering on his door and asking Jack to let him in. In response, the office door swings open to reveal a knackered Jack O'Neill, desperate for rest. He tells Mitchell to sit down and then asks him jokingly which officer told him about the baby becoming a teenager. Mitchell tells Jack that it was Jones, and Jack smiles, telling Mitchell that Jones can never keep her mouth shut. Turning angry, Mitchell tells Jack that they need to take this situation seriously; the SGC cannot be looking after a teenager.

As Mitchell says this, Jack's radio switches on and the voice of Carter is heard. Carter tells Jack that she's just gone to check up on 'Trouble' and he's aged again; he's now an adult. Mitchell and Jack sigh unanimously, before Jack tells her that he's on his way to see the baby/teenager/man. Something more than strange is going on, and so far 'Trouble' is the only one that could explain it. Mitchell asks O'Neill for permission to join him, and O'Neill happily gives it. The pair leave the office together.

In an interrogation room, Trouble sits on a horrible bed, with Carter sitting on a metallic chair and two guards standing by the door (they hold Zat guns, showing that the SGC has no intentions of harming this man). Suddenly, the two guards part to reveal O'Neill and Mitchell, who quickly stride in to take their own seats. Almost immediately, O'Neill asks Trouble what he is exactly.

Trouble responds by telling Jack that he is an Aribiom, currently the most advanced race in the galaxy. He is truly only four days old, but has been gifted with genetic memory - meaning he knows all about his race dating back thousands of years - and the ability to age rapidly before remaining middle aged for around forty years. Slightly taken aback by Trouble's willingness to give out information, Jack asks the Aribiom why he had to leave his home world, to which Trouble responds that he cannot remember his own childhood very well; all he can remember is fire and destruction.

The final part of "The Youngest Generation"...

                  Spoiler:

Mitchell then asks Trouble why he was sent to Earth, to which Trouble responds that his parents were secretly analysing the movements of the SGC to discover whether they could ever truly be possible allies. Trouble has memories from his parents of them eventually growing to trust Earth, especially SG-1. Trouble, who now reveals his real name as Carren (learnt from the memory of his parents), tells Mitchell and Jack that the Aribiom must have trusted Earth enough to send their child here. Mitchell and Jack are slightly surprised by this.

In the mess hall, around half an hour after this interrogation, SG-1 sits eating gross food, with Mitchell having joined them again. Trying to start a conversation, Daniel asks Mitchell what the SGC has decided to do with Carren, since he is technically an alien threat. Mitchell responds by telling the team that Carren had no choice when he was sent to Earth, so General O'Neill has promised the Aribiom that they will provide asylum for him until he is willing to return to his home and discover what truly happened there.

This brings Mitchell to the point of making note that whatever brought fire down upon the home world of the Aribiom must have been extremely powerful, and so if it was in fact the Sky Cruisers, SG-1 is facing a much bigger threat than they can truly handle. Vala responds by saying that they should not be too worried; SG-1 has faced enormous threats in the past and have always won, so the Sky Cruisers must be no different.

Meanwhile, as Carren is escorted to his quarters by Captain Jones and some of her squad, Carter and O'Neill sit in O'Neill's office in mid-conversation. Carter tells Jack that this day has proved to her that anything can happen in the SGC, and that she is actually beginning to enjoy the excitement that comes with being on the base. Jack tells her he's happy for her, before he tells her that he's going out for a drink this evening and he'd be very happy if she would be willing to join him. Sam gives Jack her most friendly smile before we fade out into darkness.

Just finished the first episode and am interested in continuing.

Though, I do think it is kinda funny that Vala and the Lucian Alliance would fight the Sky Cruiser, a ha'tak sized ship, with regular firearms. Guess if they're going out the least they could do is scratch the paint job.

Thanks for the comment; it's great to know that people are reading these. I agree with your comment on the first episode - which is by no means my best - but would try and explain that they are simply fighting with everything they have, as they are not willing to leave their world behind. As a result, they use regular firearms, as it is all they have. Thanks for reading

                        11x08 - Abduction

SG-1 is thrown into a trap, leaving Vala Mal Doran in the hands of an old friend. Meanwhile, the SGC tries to make contact with the Aribiom Homeworld...
                        Spoiler:

((60 second recap of "Probe" and "The Youngest Generation"))

Three Ha'tak, seven Al'kesh and twelve Tel'tak vessels hover above a heavenly white world, which looks more like a moon than a planet. The angelic presence of this world is supported by the occasional movement of white dust on the surface, rising up as if it is a cloud, and as if being embraced by it will leaded to Heaven itself. The Goa'uld vessels seem unaffected by this, hovering casually.

Inside one of the three Ha'tak, Havocis Crane - leader of the Lucian Alliance - is sitting by a large dinner table eating a meal that looks as if it could be fed to a family. By the door stands Alliance guards, heavily armed and ready for action. An interesting point to take note of is the fact that Crane appears to have added to the hieroglyphs on the walls, updating them to tell tales of the Lucian Alliance. Crane seems to be studying their quality from his seat, evaluating their worth.

Suddenly, the door leading into the room swooshes open to reveal Kipper'a, smiling pleasantly as he pulls a gun out of his holster. As if he has done this many times, Kipper'a hands his pistol to the guards before he gives one of them a pat on the shoulder. Crane seems to react to only slightly react to this, inviting Kipper'a to have a seat. Kipper'a obliges, taking a seat by his leader and taking a plate of food. Crane asks Kipper'a for his opinion on the new hieroglyphs to which Kipper'a responds that he thinks they're a bit too fancy.

Realizing Kipper'a wants to jump straight to business, Crane tells Kipper'a that he's worried that his own Second has developed too strong a relationship with Earth ("Incendiary" and "Dangerous Influence"), which could eventually compromise missions. Crane no longer knows whether he can trust Kipper'a and is debating on whether to have the man executed. Kipper'a begs Crane not to kill him but Crane tells his second to relax, telling him he will not - not yet anyway. Crane wants Kipper'a to prove his allegiance, and so he has a new mission. Kipper'a is to kidnap Vala Mal Doran on her next mission and is then to execute her. Kipper'a is unpleasantly surprised by this, but tells Crane that his mission will be completed.

Meanwhile, on Earth, SG-1 stands in the Gate Room, wearing their off-world uniform and holding FN-P90s. Col. Mitchell and Daniel Jackson appear to be in mid-conversation, whilst Vala and Major Hailey are having a quiet chat. Mitchell asks Daniel whether he believes that the information the SGC has received from the world they are travelling to - known as PE2-431 - could be legitimate, to which Daniel responds by saying that he sees no reason for it not to be; no world would lie about the spotting of a Sky Cruiser for no reason. Mitchell points out that it could be a trap but Daniel tells Mitchell that he is being superstitious - he personally trusts the people of this world.

The Stargate activates, forming the blue puddle we have grown to know and love. Mitchell leads his team up the ramp and then leads them through the event horizon. They disappear inside the wormhole and the puddle immediately vanishes, leaving the SGC Complex wall to fill the gap of the ring. The traditional interior wormhole effect is shown before it is revealed that SG-1 are now standing in a forest.

Lush green trees burst out of the ground, blocking the perfect sunlight, with moss and vines covering the bark of the trees, making them appear to be even more foreign. Soil and random splodges of grass litter the floor, although a small foot trail can be seen leading from the Stargate and out of the forest into a field. As the team walks down the trail, Hailey points out that if there is a Sky Cruiser above this world, it is evidence that they are reaching further and further into the galaxy, as PE2-431 is close to Earth.

Reaching the end of the trial and finally finding themselves on the field, Daniel studies a sign in an alien language before he turns to the team and points to his left, telling them that the village is that way. Vala asks Daniel how he's unable to remember where he is going when SG-1 has visited this world many times but Daniel tells her that he visits so many worlds that remembering everything about them is becoming more and more difficult. Vala laughs slightly as the team heads off towards the village.

Eventually SG-1 reaches the outskirts of the village, which appears to be relatively modern and yet somehow primitive, with the homes looking somewhat like our own but the market stalls surrounding the whole area making the village appear medieval. Mitchell comments on the fact that the different cultures of the galaxy never cease to amaze him, to which Daniel responds that that is how he feels every time he steps foot on another world. The team enters the village, slipping past market stalls.

Reaching a small office that appears to be for the Sheriff of this village, Mitchell steps forwards and knocks on the door before declaring that it is SG-1. The locals immediately stop what they are doing and turn in suspicion, before getting back to their work. Vala mutters that this is unusual, as the villagers are normally very happy to see the team. However, as the door for the Sheriff's office swings open, everything becomes clear...

Three Alliance soldiers emerge, holding zat guns! SG-1 has no time to respond, immediately being shot by the Zat blasts before they can take cover or aim their FN-P90s. The villagers refuse to watch as SG-1 drops to the ground and a figure emerges from behind the soldiers; it's Kipper'a. Kipper'a turns to the soldiers and tells them to take Vala and leave behind SG-1, as he has no wanting to cause any more harm than necessary. The soldiers do as ordered, dragging Vala away towards a massive stable, which we can assume now holds an Al'kesh vessel.

Meanwhile, on Earth in the SGC, General Jack O'Neill sits in the Interrogation room waiting for his 'visitor' to arrive. Colonel Samantha Carter is sitting behind him, looking intent and ready, which is the exact opposite to how O'Neill is feeling. Jack turns to Carter and asks her when exactly Carren ("The Youngest Generation") expressed interest in speaking to him, to which she responds that it was almost immediate but that she felt it was right to give him some time to rest before finally having a much needed talk with the base commander.

Moments later, the door swings open to reveal Captain Jones, escorting Carren (who wears SGC overalls). Jones gives Carter a quick smile as she allows Carren to take a seat on the opposite side of the table before she turns around and leaves the room herself. Once the door shuts, O'Neill asks Carren how he is feeling, to which Carren responds that he is in mourning. Despite having never truly lived on his own world, he still feels a sense of loss. Carter tells Carren that this is normal, as he has memories of the world that are naturally going to feel like his own.

As if in response to this, Carren tells Carter that he desperately needs closure, and that he is willing to reveal the Stargate address of the home world of the Aribiom in order to gain this. He points out - to himself, not the team - that if Aribiom is destroyed, his people will certainly not be able to punish him for revealing the location of their world to the SGC. O'Neill tells Carren that he's not going to stop him from getting what he clearly needs, telling the man that he'll have Walter dial the Stargate in the next hour after Carren gives the address.

Carren gives O'Neill his thanks before standing from his chair and heading to the door, which quickly swings open to reveal Jones once more. Jones takes Carren by the arm, leading him off out of the room back to his quarters. When the door for the interrogation room shuts once more, Carter points out that it truly is sad that Carren has had to experience what he has, and tells him that she's glad he's willing to dial their home world. O'Neill tells Carter that they need to keep this mission a secret from the Pentagon and Homeworld Security, as they would likely plan on leaching the destroyed world of resources if they could get away with it.

Meanwhile, in the prison cell of an Al'kesh, Vala slowly opens her eyes and gets to her feet. She is about to speak, believing that the rest of SG-1 will be with her, before she spins her head around and sees that she is completely alone. She approaches the door and knocks on it once, quickly shooting backwards after being given an electric shock; there is no escape. Vala calls out for help but knows that it is useless - she has been captured by the Lucian Alliance and no one will be willing to help her.

Suddenly the door for the cell opens, revealing Kipper'a. Vala is shocked that her own friend is involved in this plot as Kipper'a walks into the room and allows the door to slide shut behind him. She asks Kipper'a what he is planning to do with her, to which Kipper'a can only respond with an apology. Approaching Vala, he promises her that her friends are all safe and that they are still on PE2-431, as it is currently Vala who the Lucian Alliance have a gripe with.

Vala asks Kipper'a what she has done wrong this time to which Kipper'a responds by telling her that he personally feels that she has done no wrong, but that Crane sees her as an ally to the Tau'ri and himself, meaning that Kipper'a has been ordered to break this bond. Vala tells Kipper'a that the idea of killing her is morally wrong, as it means the inevitable rebirth of the war between Earth and the Lucian Alliance. She reminds him of the threat of the Sky Cruisers, telling him that Earth and the Lucian Alliance need each other during this hard time.

Kipper'a agrees, telling Vala that he is on her side in this, but he has no choice but to kill her; otherwise Crane will have his head. Vala is angered by this, telling Kipper'a that he is acting like a coward and treating a potential ally like an enemy. She then corrects herself, telling Kipper'a that he is not treating an ally like an enemy, but a friend like an enemy. Kipper'a is taken back by this, so he turns and retreats to the door. He is about to exit when Vala calls out telling Kipper'a that he has a choice... Many Lucian Alliance members will follow him, so leaving the organisation and joining the war against the Sky Cruisers is not as challenging as it sounds. Kipper'a does not respond, instead leaving the room.

                          Part 2 of "Abduction"...

                          Spoiler:
Back in the SGC, O'Neill, Carter, Sergeant Walter Harriman and Carren are in the control room, as Carren reads out a seven gate address to Walter which Walter enters in to the dialling computer. All of the chevrons appear to lock before the Stargate in the Gate Room below suddenly kawooshes to leave the beautiful blue puddle behind. Carren seems shocked by this, as it is his first time in his own memory that he has seen that Stargate open.

A MALP in the Gate Room slowly travels up the ramp before entering the event horizon and disappearing beyond site. Everybody is silent in the control room as Carren looks at the video feed screen with desperation and hope. O'Neill gives Carter a look that clearly says that he knows that they are going to find nothing, but Carter tells Jack to not give up hope, as they never know what they might find.

Suddenly Walter shouts out that they are receiving video footage, and the screen comes to life to reveal the Stargate Complex of the Aribiom Homeworld (as seen in the opening moments of "The Youngest Generation"). Although the room is clearly damaged, it is clearly still operational as the MALP picks up footage of an alarm flashing white energy, before soldiers wearing white armour flood into the room and fire on the MALP, destroying the camera.

Jack and Carter are clearly shocked by this, although Carren seems to only be excited. He asks O'Neill for permission to speak through the microphone through the MALP and the General gives him the go ahead, so Carren leans towards the microphone - which is attached to a computer - and announces himself as 'Carren, son of Varius'. There is a moment of silence before a voice sounds through the system; it is coming from a speaker that records what is said through the microphone. The voice tells Carren that he is pleased to hear his voice, as he never thought he would see his son again. Everybody suddenly realizes that the person speaking must be Varius (known as the husband in the previous episode), father of Carren.

Carren lets out an enormous grin before he speaks through the microphone and tells his father that he wishes to travel through the Stargate and speak with him, as well as discover what caused his father to send him away. Jack takes hold of the microphone and introduces himself, before also saying that he would like to meet the man and discuss the attack. Varius tells Jack that he is thankful that Jack was willing to look after his son but he is not yet willing to reveal the secrets of the Aribiom Homeworld. Jack tells Varius that he understands, and that he would like to one day meet the man.

With all said and done, the Stargate closes. Carren looks at O'Neill and asks the man for permission to leave this world after any more needed debriefing but O'Neill tells the man that there's no need for that; Carren is free to go home, and he'll have it booked into the system that Earth will dial to the Aribiom Homeworld in the next half hour. Carren is then escorted from the room by Captain Jones, who has been standing by the door, leaving Carter and O'Neill behind.

Back on PE2-431, Hailey opens her eyes to find herself in a comfortable bed with a splitting headache. Confused as to what has happened, she sits up and realizes that she is in one of the relatively modern homes of a local who lives here. An elderly woman sits in the corner eating a pot of soup and studying Hailey, although there is a smile firmly set on her face. The elderly woman explains to Hailey that she's been shot by a Zat gun and drugged, so she shouldn't try any task too daunting, like standing up.

Hailey jumps to her feet and grabs the woman, pushing her against the wall. She asks the woman why SG-1 were ambushed, to which the woman responds by telling Hailey that the villagers had no choice but to lure SG-1 into this trap; the Lucian Alliance were going to annihilate the village if they didn't. Letting go of the woman, Hailey asks her where the rest of SG-1 is, to which she responds that they are resting in other rooms of this home. Just as Hailey turns to run out of the room, the elderly woman stops her.

Although she looks clearly uncomfortable whilst she speaks, the elderly woman tells Hailey that the Lucian Alliance took Vala. By now, the lady says, Vala is likely to be dead. Hailey simply gives the elderly woman her most threatening frown before she returns to her bed, picks up the gear that has been left there and then heads to the door with serious intent to cause harm. The elderly woman, now on her own, sighs as she looks at her spilled pot of soup, before stating that this situation is becoming a mess.

On the bridge of the Al'kesh, Kipper'a is watching two of his soldiers as they pilot the ship through hyperspace. Suddenly a screen on the ship flashes red with new crawling text and Kipper'a swears in an alien language before telling his men to drop the ship out of hyperspace; they've just been contacted by Crane and he wants them to land their ship on the world of Derillico and kill Vala in a public display. The soldiers do as ordered, taking the ship out of hyperspace to reveal...

...A Lucian Alliance Fleet! Five Ha'tak vessels, including the three seen above the heavenly world, and ten Al'kesh ships, as well as a swarm of Tel'tak and Death Gliders, hover above a world covered entirely in forest, with only a few patches of blue in sight. The soldiers begin to pilot Kipper'a's vessel towards the surface of Derillico, avoiding ships that are buzzing past in anticipation. Kipper'a turns to his men and tells them that he is going to visit Vala; he feels like he owes her a true apology before he takes her life. He then turns and leaves the bridge.

In the prison cell, Vala is sitting against a wall with her eyes closed when the electrified door swings open to reveal Kipper'a. Angry at him for leaving her without a word in the last conversation, Vala immediately jumps to her feet to shout at him when Kipper'a orders her to be silent. Vala tells him that he cannot control her, as she knows he will kill her whatever she does. Sighing, Kipper'a approaches her and takes a seat, before she drops down and joins him.

Kipper'a explains to Vala that negotiating to keep her alive would only end in both of their deaths, but he does apologise for having allowed the situation to come to this point. He tells her that, in reality, he probably shouldn't have ever captured her and probably should have taken the punishment for failure. Vala tells Kipper'a that he has betrayed their friendship, and as a result she will never trust his words. Kipper'a sighs before bowing his head, telling Vala that it is unfortunate that their friendship must end like this.

Then, as unpredictable as ever, Vala launches up onto her feet and plants a kick into Kipper'a's cheek. The Lucian Alliance member screams and spits out blood as her foot follows through, forcing his head to hit the ground. Just as Kipper'a goes to grab for a Zat, Vala kicks the man in the stomach, winding him. Kipper'a tells Vala that she'll never escape this world as she grabs his gun and charges it up. Then she shoots him - only once, so he is just unconscious - and Kipper'a collapses.

Grabbing hold of the Lucian Alliance Second, Vala drags Kipper'a across the floor towards the electrified door, before she places his hand on the metal. This time the door does not react with electricity, opening instead to reveal the rest of the Al'kesh. Stepping out into a corridor, Vala takes one last look at the bloodied and unconscious Kipper'a before she mutters that he made a big mistake. Then she watches as the door shuts on him, before turning to head down the corridor and take control of this ship.

Meanwhile, on Earth, a worried SG-1 (excluding Vala) appear from the open wormhole of the Stargate with clearly worried looks on their faces. O'Neill stands at the bottom of the ramp with Carter by his side, and it is obvious that the pair knows that something is wrong. O'Neill asks Mitchell where Vala is, to which Mitchell responds to by telling the General that they have reason to believe that she was abducted by Kipper'a. O'Neill and Carter suddenly look incredibly worried.

Back on the Al'kesh, the two soldiers that are sitting in the bridge and are piloting the ship are joking about a strange ceremony that occurred on the last world they visited. One of the men then out of the blue points out that Kipper'a has been gone for a while and that he hasn't seen any other soldiers around, so the other soldier stands up and tells his friend that he'll check everything out as he heads towards the door.

Exiting the bridge and arriving in a corridor, the soldier is immediately zatted by Vala, who stands with a smug smile on her face. The soldier drops to the ground - unconscious - and Vala moves him out of the way of the door with her foot. Slowly moving towards the door, she watches as it automatically slides open to reveal the single soldier inside. He turns in time to see Vala but has no chance to react; he is shot by two blasts, as Vala couldn't risk having a blast miss him.

                            The final part of "Abduction"...

                            Spoiler:
Striding into the bridge, Vala nudges the soldier off of the chair he was on and takes it for herself. As she begins to let her hands hover over the controls, she encourages herself that this mission shouldn't be hard as she's already near the surface of Derillico, so all she needs to do is pilot the ship towards where the Stargate currently stands. Then she begins to move around controls as the ship finally comes under her command.

Meanwhile, on Crane's Ha'tak, Crane is tucking into yet another plate of food when one of his pilots enters the room and informs him that Kipper'a's Al'kesh is changing course and is now heading towards the Stargate. Suspecting that Kipper'a is about to let Vala go, Crane orders his pilot to tell a Death Glider squad to target the Al'kesh and disable it; Vala can not be allowed to leave. The pilot then asks Cane whether he would like the Stargate destroyed but Crane tells the pilot not to touch it. The pilot bows before leaving the room.

Now on his own again, Crane allows one of his knives that sits on the table to scar the surface of the wood, as he begins to draw hieroglyphs. He speaks as he does so, beginning to tell the story of his traitorous second who died from beheading at the hands of his own master. Crane smiles, before he looks at the wall around him and begins to examine the symbols again - symbols which tell the tales of the many victories of the Lucian Alliance.

As Crane carves his own history, Vala continues to control Kipper'a's Al'kesh, now entering Derillico's cloudy and controllable atmosphere. Suddenly, as if from they have come from nowhere, Death Gliders emerge firing blasts of plasma. Vala, who still sits in the pilot's seat, quickly takes hold of the joystick and swerves the ship out of the way, narrowly avoiding the plasma that will likely burn through her shields. Forcing the ship rapidly downwards and allowing the Death Gliders to shoot past over head, Vala is able to count around six Death Gliders.

They swarm her, so Vala forces her ship ever closer to the surface, and the Stargate is now in site. Letting the ship make contact with the surface just as rays of plasma fire down towards her, Vala launches out of her seat and steps over the dead body of one of the pilots before turning to leave the bridge, only to be face to face with... Kipper'a! Kipper'a holds a pistol this time, and it is clear from the expression on his bloodied face that he is willing to use it.

Vala refuses to beg for mercy and instead gives Kipper'a a simple nod, letting him know that she accepts that her time has come. At first Kipper'a is confused, but eventually his face sets to a simple smile. He lets his pistol drop to his side and tells Vala that she needs to escape through the Stargate quickly; he needs to get out of here himself now that Crane will likely hunt him down. Vala thanks Kipper'a but tells him that this still doesn't make up for him capturing her, and that he has some work do to do win back her trust. The pair shake hands before she leaves the bridge of the Al'kesh for the last time. She's about to step out into the firing line of Death Gliders.

In the SGC control room, the alarm for the Stargate activation is ringing. A worried General O'Neill, Mitchell and Daniel stand looking at the screen that will reveal whether and I.D.C has been sent through. Mitchell asks Daniel whether he thinks this could be Vala, but Daniel says it is unlikely - after all, she was kidnapped by Kipper'a. However, Walter soon confirms that the I.D.C does belong to the SG-1 member, and Jack practically shouts for Walter to drop the Iris.

Luckily he does in time, and the metallic shield slips away to reveal the beautiful blue puddle. Moments later Vala emerges - a grin on her face, although she is bloodied and battle scarred. Saying no words, as they are unnecessary, Vala simply gives the surprised Daniel a wink, before she heads off out of the Gate Room to be medically checked by Dr Lam, and then likely debriefed.

Meanwhile, in deep space, Kipper'a's Al'kesh hovers calmly, totally alone. On the inside of the ship, Kipper'a asks one of his men for an update on their situation, to which the man responds that it is not good. Kipper'a asks whether this is the end, to which the man replies by telling him that it is very likely. On the outside of the ship again, we pan out to reveal around ten Al'kesh and twelve Death Gliders. This may be the end but Kipper'a will not go out without fighting. Just as Kipper'a's first Al'kesh fires a ray of plasma on the enemy ships, we fade out.

Sorry for the long delay for the release of "Abduction"; I really struggled with this episode and with trying to get it perfect, so I hope you enjoy it.

"Rain" should be a much faster story to write, for reasons I can't yet reveal to you.

Sorry for the very obvious lack of a new episode; I've recently written a pilot script to add to my writing portfolio. Now that script is finished, I'll begin work on episode 9.
