Have you guys ever mapped out planets or other locations you use in your stories?

yes actually, in one story of mine, Project One series, I used Google Maps for real world locations and then set them all in a completly alternate earth setting. Real world locations, some of them completely empty farmlands, set into an alternate universe with houses, industrial complexes, etc. Very useful to be honest.

Heck I have even made some models too of houses I used in my stories and settings as well in LEGO Digital Designer. Its both fun and sometimes addicting.

I have a method personally, find the house design that fits my minds eye as best possible. Then save the images required of the floorplans and general layout. Then use LDD to make the model to my desired color and primary set up. Must admit though; a lot of my lego modeling and mapping are all experimental.

Hahah! Sorry. It's been months since I've checked in here, so I just skipped to posting without catching up on a hundred pages of new posts. Probably should have looked at the last couple pages at least.

And I agree that it's skeevy. I will email them. As much as I would love to get published, I know this isn't it. Though I think I should be offended that they think my story is on par with their usual fare. *Harumph, grumble grumble.*

Lol, this creepo not only is preying upon that secret wish many writers have to be published, while acting like his own sub-par offerings give him the only credentials needed to "elevate" others to his own lofty place of being a published author. I mean seriously, I was lost in the first line about it being a "beautiful spring day, sunny but cold, with cotton ball clouds in the sky" I mean... cotton ball clouds?

I know my stuff is not worthy to publish, not without a heck of a lot of work and major revision. It offends me that this guy seems to think his stuff is worth money, and that he having sold maybe a couple copies means that he has the knowledge to "help" others likewise do the same. Ugh!

I haven't read this persons work and he does sound like a creep, but that line doesn't bother me at all. I know exactly what he means and my mind is now happily imagining that kind of day. (It's a gloomy, trying to rain kind of day today).

Cotton balls is a bit over-used, but doesn't bother me that much. I'd rather trite than full of grammar and spelling errors.

Well, the work-day is over here, at least for those who work 9-5. I've put in my time and had a productive day. First, supper. Then, some writing-related stuff.

ETA: Well, we've got the cotton balls here ATM. Summer in Florida--surprised all you-know-what didn't break out this afternoon and drench us.

For those of us who were having troubles access fanfic today and yesterday and tomorrow, they are currnetly in the middle of a server migration/merge project, there will be periods of downtime to be expected, though they are expected to be less then a minute long when they occur.
