Couple of nitpicks though - if she was a Navy Lt. Commander, the Air-Force personal would still refer to her as Commander. Major is just the equivalant Air-Force rank.
She noticed Carter's rank insignia when they rescued her. You dont wear rank insignia when in the field
And finally why didn't she just dial the Alpha Site? No Iris means no need for a GDO

You haven't seen Sora in any fic? I posted one for her on SGAHC the other day (writing another one as I type), but generally I've read all of about 2 or 3 with her in, all her Pov.

Just read an excellent fanfic, The Knife's Edge of Madness by Strix Varia. It follows Sam in an alternative storyline for Desperate Measures where she escapes on her own (as she almost did) before the Team found her. Sam escapes only to encounter even greater obstacles to her return to the SGC.

Strix Varia caught the full flavor of Sam's courage, strength and vulnerability, and managed to combine SG-1's presence for a no-stopping-for-a-break read. No shipping (alas! ) but all the aspects we love about SG1 will be there!

Anyone got any good recommendations for the following SGA characters, they are minor characters but I do like a decent fic that looks into those who we don't get to see much on show: Sora, Kavanagh, Miko Kusinagi, Dr. Simpson, Grodin or Kolya.

A writer after my own heart. I love fics about the minor charries.

Right now I've only got an unfinished fic with Grodin as the main character (I'm obsessive and in firm denial about him, don't even get me into it) called 'Night Goes On': http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2574711/1/

There'll be many more where that came from... I got a ton of ideas for fics with him as a main character - one or two of which will also feature Kavanaugh pretty heavily, hopefully in a role other than a jerk, so yeah. I'd love to write one about Kolya, though... 'cept I've got no ideas. Bugger.

Anyway, does anyone know where I can find a Bates fic? I've only seen one or two and they were mostly romances. I don't like non-canon romances, so it's been tough looking... anyone?

Simpson has only been in one episode, but I just wish there was more so...

Miko fics - Fists of fury by ellex - very amusing.

Also read Rodney/Miko one that was quite good, despite not really being a pairing I'd have gone for - Substitutions by Kharessa bloodrose (Rated R - so not work safe!).

There are more but can't find them easily... there was a fun McKay/Shep one with her in it but that was er, rated rather high, but it's on wraitbait if anyone wanted to look for it...
