I liked the line toward the end about Carter "making up" for destroying Vorash's star. Gave me a good laugh and tied things back to earlier seasons quite nicely. All in all a great and entertaining read.

while I really like the idea of the nebula and the cold plasma and such, it was really cool to imagine, I didn't really enjoy the daniel/ vala subplot. I mean I get that vala would still be tender after tomin, but I also think that daniel and vala would've talked about it. I also don't see why she would've snapped at him like that. I mean, they apologized and stuff, but it seemed like that part was forced a little much IMO.

That's the angle I was going for, really; Vala's not a very emotionally stable person, and she's either very hot or very cold. And I'm also trying to get across that she's very much at a crossroads of sorts in her life. She went from having absolutely no human relationships for most of her adult life... to all of a sudden having quite a few. Vala never grew up learning how to properly interact with people honestly and openly, and I think her sometimes wild behavior is a consequence of that.

Of course, people are free to disagree, but that was always my interpretation of her.

Maybe it's just that I've grown used to SG:U and its focus on character drama, but it didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. Still a fun episode anyway.

no, don't get me wrong, I love SGU and character development, I just think the vala daniel thing occurred too quickly is all. Either way, still would've loved to have seen this on the tv in HD, woulda been sick.

Hmmm, so after a little thought, I'm reworking part of the plot of the next episode. It'll be delayed a little but, but I think it will work better in the long run.
