How would people feel about a LotR/SG-1 crossover?

I had an idea for a LOTR/SG-1 fic.

SG-1 would come through the gate or something (dunno what) and there would be a gate and it would have them meeting each other. Daniel would be trying to explain the stargate to them.

Daniel: "We came through the Stargate."

Frodo: "What's that?"

Pippin: "Do you mean that big ring in the ground?"

Gandalf: "The Ring must be destroyed!"

And it would continue on like that for a while and Jack would get really annoyed and it would have some evil system lord coming by to steal the stargate and they had to save destroy it before they could get it...

Obviously, it's supposed to be funny. Never wrote it, doubt I will. But the idea cracked me up.

Also, it was supposed to explain Boromir's death by having Sam have the hots for him and then Legolas and Aragorn would be trying to steer clear so they won't die.

Aha! I have found my little plan sheet:

Note: Stargate is actually large ring for Sauron and have to somehow throw it in some… mountain? They have to have a kind of Fellowship. Aragorn, Boromir, Samwise, Frodo, Merry, Pippin, Legolas, Gandalf, Gimli. Yay!

Sam CARTER falls in love with Boromir – Widows curse! – Boromir dies via Uruk-Hai and arrows.

They try to explain what a Stargate is: “… It’s this big… ring that—,”

Gandalf: “The ring must be destroyed.”

“The ring? The gate?”

Gandalf says, “The ring must be destroyed”

Whenever they mention Stargate ‘cause Merry and Pippin keep saying, “Do you mean that great ring in the ground?”

Finally, Jack gets mad: “The ring must be des—,”

“Will you stop that?! Please, Rudolf?”

Danny: “Gandalf.”

“That’s what I said.”

“No you didn’t.”

“Yes, I did.”

“No you didn’t.”

“Did.”

“Didn’t.”

“Did.”

Teal’c takes Merry and Pippins swords away when they first run into each other. Merry and Pippin try to jump for them but can’t jump that high. They start kicking his legs. “Would you please refrain from that.”

Maybe this is just me, but a lot of Fantasy novels really annoy me. They seem to be permanently stuck with the old "Swords 'n' sorcery" shtick.

Would someone please do the decent thing and invent gunpowder?

Anyway - an SG-1/LOTR crossover. I like it, just so long as you have Teal'c shooting down a Fell-Beast with a couple of blasts from his Staff-Weapon, and O'Neill rockin' an' rollin' with his P90 in the Mines of Moria...

i think SG1/LOTR fic would be good. a friend and i wrote a short little SG1/pirates of the caribbean humor fic once. it was....interesting. but LOTS of fun to write!
