I've got 16 chapters. 15 really, because the first chapter is a prologue. And I'm planning on three to four more chapters.
You're nearer the end than the beginning. Yeah, that would qualify as novel length in my book. You might be better off just getting someone to beta for grammar and spelling and basic quality, which means you'll have to be very, very careful of keeping your facts straight. My last chap of ITB was so far away from the previous one I had sent my beta that she missed things in it; I actually had to go back and re-read a couple of chaps to fix my own errors. Not her fault in this case--mine for taking too long. Well, I've got to hop along, Cassidy (yup, showing my age); chores wait for no one, and I want to get my blog written for tomorrow, as well as some of my original fic and find a place to post the writing prompt scene that I wrote from my blog last week (trying to figure out how to post more than one entry on each page in Blogger ).
Fems: Thanks, I'll take that into consideration, but thanks for the advice. I'm working on a small drabble right now, and I'm still hashing out ideas for the other one.
As of 2012, who is in command of the SCG, who is the head of Homeworld Security, and what are their ranks?
sigpic Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.
Seaboe--my teen is like that. Tests into all Advanced Placement courses, smart as a whip, as my gramma used to say; however, grades are barely squeaking by. Seems these demanding teachers actually want them to do classwork and--hold onto your hat!--turn it in!
If I didn't know better, I'd think you were my sister.

As seen on Stargate: Universe, Homeworld Security has renamed to Homeworld Command with Lt. Gen. Jack O'Neill, USAF commanding. I haven't seen much SGU so I don't know if Maj. Gen Hank Landry, USAF is still in command.
Until stated otherwise I assume that they are still in command.
No Sam w/o a Jack and no Jack w/o a Sam.
It's like and immutable law of the multiverse.

Ok. That's good. I just need to do a very minor rewrite then.

And you've just reminded me the other question I was going to ask before. What years are S9 and 10, I need it for the fic I'm working on.
Season 9 was first broadcast in 2005/2006, and season 10 in 2006/2007.

I have an idea for a deleted scene/prologue type fic for my SG-3 off world fic, which will mostly focus on an original character who was kidnapped by rogue NID and will explain why and how she comes to be stranded on the planet that SG-3 end up getting stranded on four years later, or would that be something you wouldn't really be interested in.
I could tack it onto the beginning of this SG-3 fic, but it would probably make it longer then planned, and I'd kinda like to separate them. I may end up writing it anyway even if no one would be interested, and just not publish it. But I wanted to get people's opinions before I start working on it.
