and i think they did something simmiler in season 6 when the star gate was turned into a bomb by Anubis which is what gave me the idea.

hey if a ship the size of a 304 is diving towered a plant and is about be hit by weapon that will destroy it if lands a direct hit and the only option to get away is to activate hyper drive. could it activate it hyper drive in a planets atmosphere?

Theoretically, yes. Hyperspace (like warp speed) is just the bending of space-time. Space-time exists both inside and outside a planet's atmosphere.

alright and let say just as the ship enter the "tear" (that how i describe it) a piece of debre takes out one of the pylons for the "real space" engines. would that result in the ship stranded where ever it came out or just destruction of the ship because of Hyperspace

If an impulse engine (or it's SG equivalent) is malfunctioning, damaged, or otherwise completely unusable, it shouldn't have any affect on the hyperspace engines unless the engines were somehow dual functioning. If they're completely independent systems, then a ship should be able to enter and exit hyperspace irrespective of impulse control.

Sure. I mean, depending on *where* the ship is, debilitating hyperspace capabilities might as well be hobbling it completely. But if they're in a firefight, it's plausible that impulse control and hyperspace could be damaged. Right?

right... in this insistence the ship is fleeing a fire fight but had to try and rescue the crew of another ship that was already doomed because it was falling towered the planet the fight was over. so maybe something like this

A rip in space open in front of the Fremont as she dove towered the planet but before she was fully enter the tear, the gold lighting from Anubis ship grazed the ship causing several system to blow including power for the engines causing her to spiral uncontrolled into the tear

The only way for the ship to be destroyed when it loses on of the engines is if losing the engine somehow starts an uncontrollable chain reaction which in turn destroys the ship.

For the Star Wars verse, hyper can only be engaged when the ship is free of the gravity wells of planets and stars. In the Expanded Universe (meaning the games and novels - don't know if Disney will carry it over to the new movies) the Empire built Interdictor cruisers. A ship half the size an Imperial-class Star Destroyer that carried 4 large gravity generators whose sole purpose is to pull ships out of hyper and to prevent ships from going into hyper.
