I don't think so. We've seen two people fighting and falling through the window (The Broca Divide) and it shattering under the gravity coming through the Stargate in A Matter of Time. I think there have been a few more incidents where it was under fire or broke but nothing comes to mind right now. However, we do know that when a team comes in hot or the gate is otherwise under fire they tend to close the blast door (or more like screen) in front of the window of the briefing room and control room...

Do they tend to close the blast door in front of the briefing room, I know they close the blast door in front of the control room window, although in Children of The Gods it was closed.

Is it ever mentioned in either Stargate or even Atlantis how the ATA gene is detected, it's through a blood test right.

Well in Sheppard's case, I think it was just how the Ancient tech reacted to him. I don't know how they figured it out for Jack.

Apparently the Lantean medical scanner can detect and measure the strength of the ATA gene. I'm not sure whether they have these in the Milky Way galaxy so they probably do a DNA test on military and civilian personnel involved with the Program.

Dunno. We don't have enough information about the gene to know this; we don't even know if it's recessive or dominant.

Given that the one is directly above the other, it makes sense that they're one big door rather than two separate one.

Not to mention that the people in the briefing room might like to be shielded from any attacks coming through the gate as well. Or even if there aren't any people present it would be nice for the glass window not be broken/shattered and half the room damaged...

I believe Carson devised a blood test. As for it being passed on, it would depend on if it was a dominant or recessive gene. I did a bit of research on genetics when I started ITB, as there was going to be a back-story dealing with that, but it never happened. However, I did learn a bit, but that was months ago. Here's something I found that seems to lay it out in pretty plain English:

Autosomal recessive is one of several ways that a trait, disorder, or disease can be passed down through families.

An autosomal recessive disorder means two copies of an abnormal gene must be present in order for the disease or trait to develop.

Information
Inheriting a specific disease, condition, or trait depends on the type of chromosome affected (autosomal or sex chromosome). It also depends on whether the trait is dominant or recessive.

A mutation in a gene on one of the first 22 nonsex chromosomes can lead to an autosomal disorder.

Genes come in pairs. Recessive inheritance means both genes in a pair must be defective to cause disease. People with only one defective gene in the pair are considered carriers. However, they can pass the abnormal gene to their children.

CHANCES OF INHERITING A TRAIT

If you are born to parents who both carry an autosomal recessive change (mutation), you have a 1 in 4 chance of getting the malfunctioning genes from both parents and developing the disease. You have a 50% (1 in 2) chance of inheriting one abnormal gene. This would make you a carrier.

In other words, if four children are born to a couple who both carry the gene (but do not have signs of disease), the statistical expectation is as follows:

One child is born with two normal genes (normal)
Two children are born with one normal and one abnormal gene (carriers, without disease)
One child is born with two abnormal genes (at risk for the disease)
Note: This does not mean that children will necessarily be a carrier or have be affected.

This might be better, as I would think that the Ancient gene would have been dominant in the original Atlanteans.
