So my flight is book, and seeing as I'll be leaving the house in just over 12 hours, I should probably pack soonish. Maybe.

I've picked up chocolates from the local hand-made shop, 2 varieties of PB, and a fair amount of blue jello. (Some of which is ear-marked for PengYn, of course!!!)

Just got my confirmation/reminder email from the ren, so need to grab that. Need to also grab my eticket, which I've already printed off ...

So yeah, packing is next on the to-do list - right after the family dinner (and we had a family lunch today too, with dif family members ... I'm gonna be *so* stuffed!!!) ... right - gotta go.

I'm here, finally

we had a 90 minute delay because O'hare was on 'flow control' then, when i finally landed, there was a lightening strike so all planes ground to a halt...and i was 100 feet from the terminal with my flight to england leaving in just a few minutes just a few hundred feet away.

got off, RAN halfway down the terminal, they opened the door for me, got on, they loaded the baggage and cargo, then we sat on the tarmac for almost 2 hours waiting for a storm system to pass, so we made it into heathrow 2+ hours late, missed our train to nottingham, but caught the next one, and am in a B&B in nottingham, just had a wonderful dinner with rhubarb crisp for dessert, adn i think were gonna go back and get caught up on some sleep and then we're gonna go sight seeing tomorrow around sherwood forest.

Seems I'll be going to the airport in style. My brother came round today visiting for the weekend from Nevada where his company has him working for a few months on a project and he's gonna have his personal driver pick me up in his limo and take me to the airport on Thursday AND pick me up after the whirlwind weekend is over on Monday and take me home.

heh...he's even trying to get my aisle seat changed over to a window one.

How's that for connections?
