Its a legitimate word in the English Language. Its just not used in American English though it is familiar to Brits, Aussies and Kiwis.
And its one of our national pastimes...along with complaining about the rain...hitting a wooden ball at some sticks with a willow bat...standing around in the rain and drinking tea.
Sometimes we like to stand in queues for silly sports while drinking tea and complaining about the rain all at the same time
I do believe Canada uses it too, since I recognized it
There another thing we have in common with the Brits and Aussies...

Yes we do. As in many things we "swing both ways" and use standing in line or a queue (and we are polite while doing it and it is mostly at the Tim Horton's! ).
