Up until this weekend (and including this weekend) Collectormania was predominantly a signing event held in a great big honking shopping centre. Okay, there were no talks, but there were dealers, autos and photos and it was lovely to be able to go off and do your shopping when you had enough of the crowds. Now they're migrating to the stadium, it's going to have lots of talks and parties and general con stuff, but it loses the shopping element, so we'll see how it pans out. It's still free, it's still nearby, so I'll still be there!
As for making sense.... not necessarily. I mean, there was no Gabit event around Expo, was there? There are two schools of thought on this one. Either Gabit will be around this event and that's why Amanda has said yes to Collectormania (because she'll be in the country anyway).... OR, at4 won't be anywhere NEAR June because what's the point in her coming all the way out here to come again in three or four weeks?
At the end of the day, Collectormania is run by a totally different company. It could be totally independant, it might not be. We all know that Amanda has wanted to come over in summer so it might be that the summer convention was good timing for her, allows her to do touristy stuff, and then Gabit is still in Autumn/Winter.

My thought is that it might be the weekend following up to or previous to the Milton Keynes Collectormania. I mean, both events take place on the same continent and if she so decides, Amanda might consider it a time of holiday (with her family?) on the weekdays betwixt the events.
I'm saying May 30-31 or June 13-14.
ETA: Seem EH-T had the same thought.

I don't know if I like the idea of having AT4 and Collectormania right after each other... I would have to take a week of leave from university for this... and it's the time of my final exams ... *uagh*
I don't know... on the one hand I want nothing more than see Amanda again asap... but on the other I really have to see that it stays in a reasonable scope
So Milton Keynes in June and AT4 in sometime in fall sounds great to me!!!
And I still have a little bit of hope for the London Expo next month... not much, but a little!!!Comment
