i'm really hoping for a sudden+ totally inexplicable drop in air fares in 2 weeks. that's when i'll finally be ready to commit to the certain dates. i have my tentative schedule all set and finances figured out and i'm chomping at the bit to get tickets and hotel reservations set up(already have Renn rerservations made) then it will seem more like an actual reality than a dream.
Watching some Jubilee stuff today, and on the news I spotted a familiar scene behind an interviewee - The Ren's restaurant! Aparrently, the spot the Queen stepped onto British soil for the first time as Queen is what is now the Ren. They have put up a plaque commemorating that fact. Look out for it when you come!
Don't worry Chelle - this move is a good one for me!
Mocha - I share your hope for a drop in airfare prices ... they're looking a little scary atm, even with being able to fly on 'off' days during the 'off' season ... sigh. Ah well - what needs to be done shall be done!

Thanks for that Mumsey, that was great to see. There were also news items about that here at home. A special honour for the RCMP. The RCMP has always had a special relationship with the crown, they have even given gifts of horses to the Queen. I love that the news item ended with a comment on the relationship between our countries--so true. We share your celebration this weekend of the Diamond Jubilee. I had to come to the office this morning but it was tough dragging myself away from watching the amazing pagent along the Thames, so I am taping it to watch the rest later. Really wish I was there, must be such an awesome sight in person. However, as I look out my office window at our legislative building, I can see the statue of Queen Victoria and the banners marking Queen Elizabeth's 60 years of service. Earlier this year they had the entire building bathed in a royal purple with the Queen's symbol in the middle. It was a beautiful sight. To all the Brits, cheers, and long live the Queen.
Thanks to Pengyn, SamJackShipLover and Mala for the sig.
I'd have a question. I know that we can leave a letter for Amanda before the autograph session. I did it last year, but I was wondering if I can leave a letter(s) for a person/people who can't attend AT6

I'm sorry, the privilege is only open to attendees at the event.
I haven't been watching the pagent on the Thames, but did you see the waka? They had to get around all sorts of British health and safety laws to do it

Phew.
I've become a regular donor to the Seeing Eye Dogs here in Australia and told them all about how we support the UK organisation - it's such a great feeling to be able to help out where & when you can.
