I think the Asurans started out as just nanites, and after they evolved, they created the nanovirus using their own nanite cells as template. Afterall, the Asurans were for attacking Wraith, not humans.

The logo was really for Sheppard and team to explain to the viewers that they had been boarded by the aliens. Remember that SG-1 had some aliens who had quite a bit developed on them and were never seen again; the Foothold aliens, the Onnes, the Crystal Skull aliens and the Spirits are good examples.Originally posted by Phantom6 View Post
