A jaffa... whoa thats a throw back to the early years of SG1.... I mean they will always have a part but I think that race (not so much Teal'c but the others) fit more with the Goa'uld story line and Im pretty sure that cow is milked dry if you know what I mean. Having a jaffa would open Atlantis to those kind of story lines and Im not sure that would help the ratings. Im not saying its not a great story line it just doesnt fit in with what SGA is all about.

Because this is Stargate ATLANTIS, not Stargate SG-1. The jaffa have had a decade and it's time to move on. PLus, why on earth would you need or want Jaffa in the Pegasus galaxy?

and how would the Jaffa even make sense to the Atlantis storyline?
