It's spelled "Kanaan" in the script, which in my opinion -- short of an on-screen credit -- should be taken as more authoritative than MGM, SCI FI, or other internal production documents (such as concept art). Writers trump illustrators and marketing people.

and there is the perpetual share, shau'ri, drey'ac, drey'auc, selmac, selmak stuff

sometimes 'close' is good enough

it is just that, with all the thousands of names out there, they keep reusing the same handful.
