Personally, I think that John considers Teyla family. The conversation in Quarantine shows that when he said that TJ would always have a family (him) in Atlantis.

As far as Teyla goes, this is another place tptb dropped the ball. When Teyla was feeling very disconnected with the Athosians with Charin dying in Critical Mass, I felt there should have been a follow through (reminds self I've been meaning to work on that oneshot for a while) with John (squee!) or someone offering some sort of familial relationship.

If not John

then Lorne stopping by and saying "You know, I think of you as a sister." sort of thing.

And they use Teyla's supposed disconnect from Atlantis as a plot device for Ronon's supposed disconnect from Atlantis (Reunion)

Answer: Still no official word. We’ve written the script (Stargate: Extinction) and I’ve maintained a positive outlook throughout. That being said, as time has worn on with no official word, I don’t blame people for being pessimistic.

As it was written in the show... Yeah I think he still considers her family but has moved her from his "companion" to more of a "sister". The feelings are still there but he's had to change the way he thinks about her, you know?

I agree, I think it's something they could have built up more, especially since they more or less forgot about the Athosian's existence

That would have made a lovely scene to see John comfort Teyla in CM

Again, I agree

I think it was a conscious decision by him, he changed his perspective on her on purpose. Whereas I think his romantic feelings for her are subconscious, he'll always have them but whereas before he was purposefully flirty with her, he isn't any longer.

I agree, Shep wouldn't name his own kid after himself

What about for a girl? Maybe after Shep's mum? (you know, that woman we were going to learn about as she was the original reason behind all Shep's angst... but we never did

Yes, Elizabeth is after Elizabeth Weir. Teyla would insist that Tanya should be named after the great leader, and friend.

The reasoning behind Tanya. Well... it starts with T, like Teyla, and ends in an A, also like Teyla, and it has the same sound as John (for the most part) TANYA, JOHN. So it like a combination of their names!

Quick fly by post...

I see Nina's got the video of Joe's main panel up... I also got about 45 minutes of it and it was hilarious.. I got a front row seat so got actual footage of Joe and not the screen...

I'll see if I can upload it when I get back..

I'm leaving NZ tomorrow but it will take me about 2 days to get home.. so I'll do up a report when I have recovered from the travelling... some fairly funny stories from Joe .. I didnt get a chance to watch the video that has been posted as I'm on dial up and it just doesnt want to play so not sure if the poster got the story in about Joe and Jason driving to Seattle.... or the one about the prank Jason played on Joe.. involving porn and Joe being stopped at the airport....
