John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Ya know.... I got to thinking about that cut scene from Reunion.... Now JM might have just been playing with us, and there may not actually have been a scene, but lets just say for argument sake that there was. That leads me to believe that Teyla was lying her butt off when she told him that she harbored no feelings for anyone on the base.
Spoiler:
The reason being, in the very next ep, Doppelganger, we see her dreaming - and who shows up in her dream razzing her about John? Ronon.
THAT tells me that his ribbing got to her and she's been worried that he was going to guess how she feels about John. So much so that she's dreaming about it. Let's face it, if anyone could figure out how John and Teyla feel about each other, it's gonna be Ronon. He doesn't miss much and he knows them better than anyone else on the base. For some reason Teyla wants very much to know how John feels first before she makes any sort of confession, I think it's distressing for some reason that he would find out before she's ready for that. Hence the beginning of the nightmare that was a result of her worry and the rest was evil John being evil.
And, yeah I agree with those who have said that the little cut scene makes it even more obvious that Ronon has NO romantic interest in Teyla whatsoever. That was the conversation of a brother and sister.
I'm working on a little ficlet with this very theme!
Oh, I love how that mind of yours works! BRAVO! That is a perfect tie to the scene in DG..Woohooo! Making Connections...love it!
Spoiler:
Gosh, is it me or are they hitting us over the head with JT from the beginning in this season? Think about it, Adrift had that wonderful little moments of them together again, and it had John confidently watching over Teyla as she spoke with Weir...very Johnish! And then inm Lifeline, how again, his trust in her abilities, his utter confidence in her leadership skills is shown clearly in here...and he know it. It must have pained him to leave her in a way because I think John feels empty without her. She is part of his team and he wants no other by his side. Can you imagine what will happen to him when and if he has to make her step down due to her pregnancy? WOW! And then, Reunion...did you guys miss that little part when Teyla is crouched down next to John in the Wraith Cell and she just sets her hand down on his leg and doesn't let go of him? woohooo! she didn't do that for Rodney..this reminded me of The Lost Boys...woohoo! and then that unscene chat. I say she went to his quarters....*wink* and finally, DG...OH MY GOSH Maff...are you going to go nuts with this episode!!!!! Wooohooo!
I can't wait to read your new fic, Suz...and what more could we want than that confession from the writer himself that this was Ronon being such a protective brother! LOVE IT!

2) Since Michael is now no longer fully Wraith and lacks the funky teeth and hairdo, does this also mean that he is incapable of feeding like a normal Wraith? 3) Is the dart that they escaped the Taranan settlement and got picked up by the Daedalus another one of those plot devices that is barely mentioned, but waiting to be used like Rodney's Puddle Jumper hyperdrive generator? 4a) Ronon's gun seems to have a LOT of shots in it. We might assume it has a power source as we saw him plugging in a battery like thing in Instinct. Does he have a thousand of those or is it rechargeable? 4b) At the start of Vengeance, John tells Ronon to set his gun to stun and it barely damages the first superbug they fight. But later on, most of the superbugs go down from one blast from Ronon's gun. Is this different because he set it on kill, or he's just shooting them in a weaker spot?
Answers: 1) If you’re referring to the creatures in Vengeance - yes. 2) Good question. Stay tuned. 3) It may come into play in a future episode. Though not in season four. 4) It does recharge itself. 4b) When dealing with certain enemies, Ronon prefers to use the Kill setting on his weapon.

Answer: I think we’ll probably know by the end of next week.

Answer: First of all, TPTB do not want his character to be more earnest. In fact, look no further than Reunion and the Sheppard/Ronon scene I talked about in Saturday’s blog entry for proof of that. I wanted Sheppard to convey his feelings about Ronon’s pending decision but wanted to do it in a way that was true to the character (read: not earnest). In the end, he ended up saying what needed to be said - by not saying it.

Answer: No, it wasn’t Adrift. It was Harmony. And it had nothing to do with the character being earnest. In the episode, Sheppard and McKay agree to escort a young Queen-in-waiting on a rite of passage. But halfway through their trek, things take a deadly turn. Joe felt his character was too much the parent in the episode. ie. informing the little girl that they would be turning back because of the danger. My argument was that as a military leader, he WOULD be the voice of reason here. Nothing to do with earnestness. Just plain common sense.

Here's hoping we get a S5! If we don't I'm gonna be sooooooo freaking SHATTRED!!!! please tell me I'm not the only one?!

Oh, this is nerve wrecking! here's hoping for a season 5 as welll....woohooo!
I used a vocabulary word in context of procreation, which is quite basic elementary school stuff. I didn't use any graphic descriptions concerning the PROCESS, but if it's in violation please do pardon me and I won't use that "s" word again.
Oh no, you're just fine! You can say the "s" word. LOL! If it wasn't allowed a certain other ship's big claim of "eye-sex" would have them all banned.
Spoiler:
I love that thought though! I highly doubt they're having sex, but we can dream. But either way, I can't WAIT to see his reaction! I don't think he'll be too thrilled.
Here's hoping we get a S5! If we don't I'm gonna be sooooooo freaking SHATTRED!!!! please tell me I'm not the only one?!
I know... The idea that it will continue seems so seamless to me, expected that it there is no S5 it will be like... oh... what do I do with my Tuesday nights now? Besides, there's still so much they have to do! Come ON,
Spoiler:
baby and everything!
Total sidenote from the newbie - what are "greens"? and what is a "reputation earner" or something? LOL, sorry
