If you have a laptop computer, many of them are made so that the DVD drive can be swapped out with an alternate media drive or hard drive. I did this with my laptop. I picked up a second DVD drive and allowed it to be set for Region 2, rather than the standard USA Region 1. When I wanted to play Region 2, I simply swapped the drives.

if you're just gonna watch a movie on the laptop - download VLC-player. It can play up any region without changing the drive/region code on it
