Finally saw "Continuum" tonight.

Did anyone else notice . . .

. . . When Carter, Mitchell and Jackson have been split up and given new lives apart from each other, one sequence is of Carter grocery shopping and she picks up a box of "Frooties" (from A Dog's Breakfast), looks at it, then puts it in her shopping basket and continues on with her shopping?

My hubby and I both recognized it instantly and bust out laughing.

Does any one know if this was Amanda's, David's, the writers' or the producers' idea? I thought it was absolutely hysterical and a wonderful nod to David, even though he had nothing to do with the movie.

I don't think this has been discussed in this thread previously (I did a thread search for the product name to check) and I'm wondering how many David fans noticed it.

I remember when David blogged or twittered about getting ADB mentioned in SGA (which was really just the saying not so much the movie) but I didn't know about the cereal. I assume David and or Jane had a word to Brad or Rob or maybe they thought it would be cute to just throw in an "inside joke" like that.

I want to see it if only for that moment now.

M's blog, but I only recall him answering the "Why did Zelenka get a credit for a 3-second walk-through" question. (Which, duh, couldn't they figure that one out on their own?).

Did Mr. M say anything about the content of such scenes, or was it only the discussion of Dr. Z's scene that I did happen to catch? If there was other discussion, could you please provide the link or the blog date?

No it was only the mention of Dr Zs lines being cut but I assume with so little dialogue with Ronon and Teyla ( I mean really? ) that maybe something else got cut too, but I could be wrong.

It was definitely cute. My first thought was that it couldn't be David, since he presumably would not have been sent a copy of the script and wouldn't therefore know about the scene in time to influence it in any way. So, I'm thinking it was Amanda (or maybe David to Amanda if she happened to tell him about the scene she needed to do). It could have even be from one of the crew that may have worked on both ADB and C. I would love to know . . . maybe I'll ask on Joe M.'s blog.

I had the definite sense that stuff was cut from Teyla, especially the scene in the . . .

. . . Shrine cave where she's interacting with Jeannie and Jeannie is all "I took too long modifying the life signs detector" etc. Teyla has basically no dialogue here, but seems like she should have based on her body and facial expression.

I can only hope and pray TPTB get this stuff into the DVD set and don't just allow it to be lost. I would have adored a Dr. Z scene as part of this ep, since it would have no doubt involved . . .

. . . Radek either saying his goodbyes to Rodney or trying valiantly to help come up with a solution to saving him. Maybe some mega-angst like Radek saying, "I can not believe I will never hear him say how smarter he is than me again!" Woobie-loosing-egomaniac-friend Radek would have been sweet. I love the Rodney/Radek dynamic.

The game was made by someone who is a squirrel...that is to say a fan of David's. Over on his site http://www.adogsbreakfastmovie.com(the forum actually) we are known as squirrels because he reffered to us that way...for some reason...and the name stuck...

I almost fell off the roof, three stories above an asphalt driveway, of the house I grew up in when I eventually figured out how to get one of those salvaged TV?s back up and running. I was splitting the cable that ran into the room below and I slipped out the window. Luckily my feet hit the gutters before the rest of me and I managed to stop my slide towards oblivion. I did however succeed in getting the cable hooked up. For months I would sneak the odd hour of forbidden TV time, craning to see the fuzzy black and white screen hidden at the foot of my bed, with a tiny crystal earpiece in the side of my head.

I dont know why but ive always prefered the season 1 uniform on Mckay he just seemed in that 1st season, to be like a kid in a candy store. i miss that excitement

I agree. While I find all the black to be somewhat sexy, especially the leather jackets, it was the blue shirt that made me fall in love with him. It really helped accent the blue of his eyes . . . not to mention show off his chest and shoulders! The gray t-shirt is just somewhat blah for me. But I'll take my Rodney's anyway they come!

I miss the blue shirt too. And yes, he doesn't wear them anymore because of an allergy to the fabric.
