Hey guys I'm back! I've been doing abit of thinking about yesterdays subject
The Gift spoilers-

I think the reason why Rodney's seeing Kate is because he's feeling insecure. He did get sent off to Russia which would have made him feel under-appreciated, and he also said to Sam in Redemption Part 2 that he had a tough childhood. He also might be feeling abit homesick because he's always mentioning his sister and how he wishes he could have gotten closer. I think he really regrets that because theres always that chance that he can die and he might never see his sister again and make it up to her. Well thats what I think anyway

MCKAY IS FRIGGIN A HOTTIE...

no...its not out of my system...i like McKay...he's like one of the coolest characters on stargate. he's like almost cooler than daniel jackson. i like daniel jackson but mckay is like slowly replacing the daniel jackson THANG...though rodney mckay isnt as cool as saying "DANIEL JACKSON MAN OF ACTION" but...but...there's something about Mckay. he's smarter than daniel. he's smarter than sam, even though sam always got the credit for everything. he's pompous but thats awesome and he has that other side to him he's afraid to show to everyone. even when he does he covers it up when he shows it. he's more human than alot of other characters on other television shows, and alot of other characters in stargate. he's not afraid to show how afraid he is yet he covers it up like anyone would...

I totally agree! Althou saying Rodney McKay sounds better than saying Danny-boys name anyday!
But you make some really good points about Rodney, and we probably will be seeing his soft side abit more next season

he just...seems more human to me than alot of people...maybe its because i am around the scientist/engineer type every single day and alot of them act alot like rodney does, though the thing about rodney, is he at least SHOWS his good side unlike mostof the people i know who are just jerks

over on the Q&A thread Joe said we may see Rodney's sister in Season 2. forget the exact wording, I think it wasn't necessarily set but just likely. Oh and I asked got an answer to noe of my questions that it's also likely Dr. Kusanagi (aka hero-worship japanese scientist from LFP) will be popping up too - wonder how?

I was thinking about that the other day, presumably the child might get the gene. I suppose it depends on it both parents need it or if either can pass it on, might b a dominant/recessive thing as well...I think there was talk that Sheppard might have had AA and Carson Aa or something, which was meant to explain why Sheppard is better at iit; but what would the artificial gene be in that case?

Well, since Rodney's gene is synthetic it would make sense that he got the stronger gene (AA), just like Sheppard. However, it looks like he got the weaker gene (Aa), just like Beckett.

Were the mice given Beckett's gene in the gene therapy experiment? If they were then that answers the question of which type of gene Rodney got...

It would be common sense to use Sheppards gene since his is AA. I've just been working this out- Rodney's is (aa), if they used Beckett's (Aa) then there would be a 50% chance of success, if they used Sheppards (AA) then there would a 100% chance of success.
Unless I'm wrong, I think I might be using the wrong method but it makes sense to me...
If I am right and I used the correct method then Rodney got the weaker gene because he cant get (AA), only (Aa) because those were the only possibilities using Sheppards gene
