Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Well well well well well, indeed. So much of what many of us suspected all along, confirmed. It's satisfying, yet also very disappointing (because you want to believe better of people and it's always disappointing when they turn out to be not as good as you'd hoped), to be proven right, both on the movie that was never going to be, and about how badly Torri was treated by TPTW. *sighs*
At least we can always count on Joe to be honest with us. And I'm very much intrigued by this new thing that's fallen into his lap; will definitely be keeping an eye out for news. Hey Joe, make sure you hire Torri for that project!
LOL. I just came back to post that myself. Interesting about the Moonlighting comparison.
Isn't it, though?

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
Here is a longer version, talks about Torri leaving and his opinions on that towards the end:
Spoiler:
I wonder if this hot seething anger will ever go away. Every time I think I've moved on someone mentions what happened with this show, with Torri and it comes back and it's like everything happened yesterday. And the rage is still as fresh as ever.
I love Joe's honesty, I can't imagine that's made him a lot of friends in that circle [you know what circle, those hormonal teenagers in charge]. But he's awesome.
SR, Lythisrose, thanks for sharing videos!
That's very interesting indeed.
Fell in love with Joe. Again. He's so amazing and sincere.
Me too, and notice how he had nice things to say about everyone and genuinely seems to like all those he worked with. Even his differences with TPTB were professional not personal.

Damn Joe, why couldn't they have put you in the executive producers chair.
You got that right! And I love how he so accurately described how TPTW had been at the helm so long and "absolute power corrupts absolutely." And how he wanted Atlantis to stand on its own, and how TPTW wanted SG-2 especially in the later seasons. We've had that very discussion in the General Topics threads.
Thank you Lythisrose and Southern Red for posting those videos!

ps - when did Garrett Wang get so cute?
That was exactly what I thought when I heard what he said. He always was tuned into the fans a thousand times better than TPTB. And he thought the Sheppard/Weir relationship was working. He may not have thought they should end up together romantically, but he did see what we saw up to a point. So take that naysayers. *makes a very immature face*
I always thought there was more to it, than just that. Sadly, we never got back to that seeing as how she was just the plotdevice and all. I wrote a fic about it though...
Like a lot of TPTW's seemingly good ideas. Tease the fans with it then forget about it.

Indeedy doo.
Like SK usually says, "In Joe we Trust."
If TPTW were smart. *rolls eyes* They would have let him have much more say in how things went. Maybe the franchise would still be going strong now, if they had.
I tell you Teal'c, hockey is the coolest game on Earth!
