You're asking the wrong person. I'm not in charge. I think it would be common sense, though, since it is holiday oriented, that everything should at least be set during the season. I'm sure it would be fine also for it to be New Year's or Hanukkah or Kwanza if you so desire.

BTW, for my Sparky Advent contribution, do you think using my twins would be a good idea?

Do remember that most likely people reading your fic might not be in the know about who these two kids are, and you would have to explain their presence before going into your story. You could use 'em sure, but they would be popping out of nowhere for anyone who hasn't read your other fic.

I agree with FH, you have to remember that not everyone knows about your twins, but maybe you could introduce them there somehow, and remember to maintain the Christmas’ spirit.

Or, maybe I could change it to Elizabeth bomb-dropping John that she's pregnant?

As long as it will be Christmas, why not? It would be a great Christmas present for the both of them.

Or I could turn it into a prequel of my story, leading up to John and Elizabeth finally going all the way after "The Long Goodbye".

Some fans were in an uproar that no actors from SGA were being interviewed on the special. However, they showed footage from "Rising" and the only two SGA actors that were shown? Joe Flanigan and Torri Higginson.

Sparky are definitely (and without a doubt!!!) the symbol of SGA, whether people like it or not, no one can deny it!!

I heard there were no actors from SGA as guests, so I decided not to watch. Yay for the Sparky appearance.

I would have done the same thing.

Elizabeth in the control room with Jack and Daniel, getting the "off you go" nod from Jack. Elizabeth stepping through the 'Gate. John stepping into Atlantis for the first time. It wasn't a "Sparky" clip, but they were the only two cast members they showed. I don't think we even saw anyone from SGU, but I wasn't really paying attention.

Oh yes. Personally I think the staff at Syfy was in love with Elizabeth. I'll never forget when I was most into SGA, right after the events of First Strike and the news Torri was not returning, that Syfy did this little compilation music video set to Matchbox 20's "How Far We've Come" using clips from all their original programming. SGA had a pretty big part in it and the focus of most of those clips was Elizabeth. I think all the SGA fans were like 'um, you do know she's NOT coming back in S4."

Syfy vid promo makers did not care. She was pretty and had good drama faces and her hair was fluffy when she turned and it fit the video.

IDK when Mallozzi posted this, but apparently in "Extinction" (the SGA movie that got shelved) Atlantis was situated on the far side of the Moon, alluding to the "moon base" that Carter referenced in "Continuum". I like the way SGA-R did it better. *smirks*

Yeah, it was a while ago that we found that out.

The problem I always saw with putting Atlantis on the moon was, where the heck are they going to get the power to run the life support and the shield to keep all that air in for weeks or even months they'd need to make post-battle repairs, and still have enough power left to take off and make it all the way back to Pegasus? Enemy at the Gate made it pretty clear that they were bleeding power from the ZPMs pretty badly during the battle with the Wraith superhive, so it's doubtful they would've have had the 3 full ZPMs that they had when they left Pegasus.

So yeah, SGA-R totally did it better. We actually thought about it.

I think both holidays would be ok, but i think if you will write on the Christmas' advent, it would be more suitable to be Christmas, IMO.

I don't know which 2 holidays you mean, since I mentioned 4, but any would work as long as the announcement is a happy one and nobody is fighting or angry. I can't see John not being happy at the news.

Advent does indeed have to be winter or holiday related - it says so in the rules if I'm not mistaken.
