Our completed Episode list and updated journal!!!

We are finished in our brainstorming--now we have to move on to writers for all the episodes and developing these further.

Bolded episodes indicate episodes that have official titles. Everything else is a working title. I love coming up with Titles, so I figure this can be a fun game for the forum--what should some of these episodes be called?

If you're interesting in writing or co-writing one of these episodes, let me know.

I think we should work slow towards the actual writing of these. Let's hammer everything out, slowly, add suggestions and comments so the writers have a full palate of understanding when they head into writing their episodes. I feel like we all need to know what's going to be outlined in every episode leading up to every episode, so we're all connected.

I would like to volunteer to write "The Lost City" if I can have a co-writer. (SK, are you game?) I have an idea for the final enemy--

    - Name: The Vanu (don't ask me where that came from, I literally dreamed it up).
    - Power: The Vanu are an incredibly powerful race with astonishing telepathic abilities. I'm talking on an unbelievable scale. They siege by mentally debilitating their enemies (think people writhing on the ground screaming from mental pain), then destroying them with either mental weapons or their ship weapons. NOTE TO SG-1 PEOPLE: HAS THIS TYPE OF ENEMY BEEN ENCOUNTERED BEFORE???
    - Why have the Vanu never attacked anyone before? Twofold: 1) their mental weapons don't work on everyone--the Ancient gene blocks it (hence John isn't affected, neither is half of Atlantis) and 2) it doesn't work on the Wraith, either. So they never wanted to take on the Wraith. (Or the Ori, since they too would be immune) But with the Wraith almost destroyed (and the Irati capable of succumbing) the chance for domination is theirs!
    - They, like the Wraith, are an evolved Ancient experiment on telepaths
    - Elizabeth is immune because of her nanites.
    - Their mental ability does leave them one weakness--a strong telepathic link is required for them to effect an incredibly powerful mental attack. If they're all connected, they can all be taken down (which is how our guys get away next season).

    What do you guys think?
I like it. I don't know if it's been done. The concept would work as long as you don't literally have people writhing and screaming the whole time. At some point I assume they fall unconscious which would work in Carson and Keller. But Keller would be writhing and screaming so it's left to Carson to handle things. Does Radek have the gene? This might be a bigger part for him since Rodney would be affected. Ronon and Teyla would be out of commission so John doesn't have them to rely on. Looks like Sparky would have to work closely together to solve this one.

And by all means, we must proceed slowly. I'm up for doing rough outlines of each episode before we write with lots of feedback from the thread. We won't have Jason until late April or so anyway so filming can't start any time soon. I will monitor that situation.

Everyone can start making notes for future writing but we need to begin with the very beginning to discuss how we get them back to the PG. Good work!

Yay good. It's been done in other sci-fi, but it'd be neat to have an unseen enemy in the SG universe.

No, no, I'm seeing mental attack, writhing on the ground for a second, unconsciousness. And it's temporary, but it's difficult to overcome. Kinda like once you get attacked, you get scared of it because it was so painful, and if you cause a problem they can attack you again.

And then they can collar you or something like that to keep you in line, so we don't have to have around 6 billion Vanu prowling the galaxy. The mental ability leads them to be able to make a first very powerful strike against whoever they're attacking, but they rely on advanced technology to do the rest.

Doesn't Rodney have the synthetic version of the gene? Or did that get neutralized somehow? I figure we have to keep those who got the artificial version safe since that is supposed to be a mutation of their DNA, and I don't know if any of us is scientifically gifted enough to distinguish what the difference between them and natural gene carriers would be.

But yeah, Teyla and Ronon would be victims--or, maybe NOT Teyla, since she's got Wraith DNA and a mental Wraith gift. The reason the Irati are not immune, however, is because that mental part of their DNA got mutated out during their transformation. They're more human than they are Wraith.

But the majority of the Milky Way and Pegasus galaxies would be affected so they're very susceptible.

He doesn't have it, and the artificially induced one didn't work on him either.

You're right on Rodney. I had a brain freeze. Love the whole idea.

My AA Probie will be handling things in my absence. You'll enjoy her. She's French and wants to be my adopted daughter. She claims I beat her but don't listen to any of that. She tends to exaggerate a bit. Right now she's taking time off to celebrate Probie birthday week and I've had to answer my own phone and make my own coffee. Except for that time David Hewlett dropped by with Starbucks and stayed to chat about the progress we're making with outfitting his trailer with all hypoallergenic furniture, everything has been quiet. Oh, and the calls from Picardo with suggestions for his operatic number have lessened also. Jason is busy bulking up for the Conan gig and the ladies are having a spa day. There was a short text from Joe, something about mud in his back yard so we must pray for the weather to clear in Malibu. All in all things seem right on track for another productive week.
Wow. I will be the Boss...the showrunner......I can already feel the power in me.lol

                Erin: thank you!

Reiko: I don't think I know you. Hi and welcome back. SR said the truth. Yes I want to be her daughter.

Oh, FRAK! That is wicked cool! (quick question on the name: Martin Gero suggested 'Vanir' as the name for the renegade Asgard, though it didn't appear in the episodes. Would you be interested in going with that name, and if so, do we need to change 'Vanu' since it's kinda close in sound?)

I have to admit, I've always had an evil little idea that Atlantis should've had some sort of really Lovecraftian-type enemy. The Vanu could be it.

And no, Rodney's gene therapy was never neutralized, so that should give him some protection.

Word. I'm good with Atlantis history, but not so much with SG-1.

I wholeheartedly agree! Mike was an awful excuse for a plot device, Marty G did a faily job at attempting to ignore Sparky, the "do you like Teyla" line or however was that was just eyeroll worthy and death by exploding tumor? Excuse me? is this an episode or a crack fic?

Yeah you pretty much summed it up...I tried to focus on the positives of the ep and got this:
green sweater was made of win
                          they wrapped Teyla's injury correctly
                          Elizabeth's speech
bagpipes (even though I cried enough to confuse my 3 yo and score myself a hug from him....)
oh and I thought Rodney and Katie were kinda cute in that awkward kinda way

otherwise....the combination of icky-guy and the fact that Carson dies mean I won't rewatch often....

Yeah, what the frak was up with that? A wound caused by a frakin' huge chunk of shrapnel being embedded in one's belly is not going to heal overnight. Where the heck were Teyla's bandages? Medical realism fail!
