Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Though Sparky probably does it best. They can make a market out of those kama sutra demo videos.
*falls out of chair* Damnit, I know I've read a fic where John and Elizabeth were "detained" by new allies so that they could demonstrate sexual techniques. I'm gonna have to go look for that one now... Heheheh...
*snickers* Well, we know Torri drinks 'em, from the commentaries, so I figured it was another one of those 'wasn't supposed to be in the scene' things, like Joe's Starbucks cup.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Hah! I found it!
Make Love, Not War, by our very own Anuna! Aliens make them do it for the sake of science. You gotta love it.
Happy smutty reading, Sparkies!

Elizabeth's chai lattes maybe?
Atlantis is sinful, sinful city. *g*
ROFL.... well we know she is rather partial to a chai latte (Torri that is)
Speaking of the great Torri, does anyone have her latest NCIS episode on DVD/tape? It was on down here in Oz last week and I was down in Victoria fighting fires so I missed it (and had only been waiting for it for like 3 months.. GRRR)
It's more fluff than smut, but I hope you guys like it anyway. Please read and tell me what you think! (reviews are wonderful! )
And thanks to Scary Kitty for the inspiration.
so i was looking on fan fiction.net and i notice that most of the post enemy at the gate are of john/teyla, ronan/teyla, rodney/jennifer but i didnt even see one story about how john felt being back on earth and im all for the other ships and all but i think the one person who deserves some more stories is John Sheppard.
I know everybody seems to be in a more smut mood today, but I obeyed the plot bunny and wrote a little fic. Of Rolling Pins and Chocolate

If you're looking for more Sparky stuff, I would reccommend John_Elizabeth and Lost City Found at LJ which have the most Sparky stuff.
1) "The Return" was a 'mid-season two-parter'--those fabled 'epic' episodes which are supposed to keep an audience chomping at the bit over a long break. How does "The Return" rank among the other 4 SGA mid-season two parters? (Which include: S1: The Storm/The Eye; S2: The Lost Boys/The Hive; S4: This Mortal Coil/Be All My Sins Remember'd; S5: First Contact/The Lost Tribe)
The Return, I felt, was a good two-parter. It marked the Return of General Jack O'Neill Since his last appearence on atlantis since Rising. The Return had a good plot line but the only thing it lacked was Jack O'Neill only being in a few scenes in Part 1 but he did have siginificant role in Part 2.
2) Did you like the concept of the McKay-Carter Intergalactic Bridge? Why or why not?
truthfully no i didnt i would've liked to seen Atlantis be cut off from Earth a little bit more. (something Joe Flanigan said in an interview).
3) In the Return, part 1 were you surprised at how quickly the Atlantis Expedition was ousted from the city? No Exactly i wasn't but i was kinda sad that they didnt thank The Atlantis Expedition for their hard work. Stupid TPTB making the ancients pig headed.
5) Do you believe Elizabeth really would have had a difficult time 'letting go' had she been a part of the discussions or made ambassador to Atlantis?
i didn't understand that part somebody wanna fill me in?
6) Who was the most out of character for you of the group who returned home? Or did you think they were in all in character? Either way, explain why.
For me I think it was weir cause she didnt really have anything to do when she got back to earth.
7) Did you like the humor moments in this episode? Which was your favorite? ('cheeky' at The Dinner, the John/Ronon hug, the World of Warcraft scene, wee baby turtles, John's cutting off General Landry, etc).
The Dinner Scene cause we got to see John, Elizabeth, Rodney and Carson in Civilian Clothing and enjoying a dinner and getting reunited and reflecting on good times.
8) Why do you think the writers put Ladon Radim in a random meeting with Teyla and Ronon?
So we, The Fans, could see what ronan and teyla were upto during the 6 weeks that the atlantis expedition was back on earth and all that.
9) Some discussion has already been made about Elizabeth carrying a P-90 when dressed out in her BDU's. Let's presume for a moment that John thought it was necessary, her being a part of a 'rescue squad'. What do you think Elizabeth's initial response would have been, and why would John have made her?
I think it was so john could keep an eye on her and the fact that elizabeth was the leader of atlantis so i think john knew that she could be helpful in retaking back their city.
10) Were you glad to see Jack O'Neill in this episode? If you were an SG-1 watcher, why or why not? Or, if you didn't know who he was, what did you think of him?
I knew Rick was going to be up in Vancouver Shooting 200 but i didnt think he was going to be in any of the atlantis episodes. I wish he was in Unending now that would've been a Series Finale but I digress... I was Glad Jack O'Neill was in these Episodes because we got to see The Return of the Jack O'Neill of Season 5 and Season 6. Sarcastic and Getting himself into trouble and helping out people when they need it.

And thanks for posting that one. It was a pleasure to reread it. You know I loved the Eliz/Teyla relationship in this. Teyla was such a good friend to her here and just understands the hearts of all her friends so well. She seemed like that on the show at times but the writers never made much of it. Shame.
And I love the way Anuna wrote Teyla in such a complimentary way. It really isn't necessary to diminish either of these women in fics. It's insulting to all the characters.

Oh, that is awesome! It's cute and carefree and reminds me so much of the really good old-school Sparky stories. Great job!
And... both of them covered in flour... Priceless!

Indeed. Anyone who does that sort of thing is NOT a fan at all. They're just in it for the ego trip.
But do we Sparkies bash Teyla? Nope. On the contrary, we criticize TPTW for screwing her character over just as much as they did with Lizzie. We criticize them for making Keller shallow and pathetic instead of the mature and confident woman she could have been. We actually care about the characters and the actors who play them.
