Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Dr Mike Branton is a scientist who asks Elizabeth out. She declines, focussing on her job, but they end up going on a non-date where he kisses her. We don't know if he's recurring yet. I think it's more to do with Elizabeth and showing her struggles with leader vs. socialising (it's not like she's in a place where she can socialise with people not associated with her job)
Personally I think it's a silly way to go about it
Spoiler:
There are plenty of opportunities to show her struggle with the people we already know and love under her command. Brining in a newby like this is unnecessary.
Ah well. I haven't felt let down be Gero yet so I've got faith.
Since people are asking here is the tentative schedules for the last five episode airings:
January 8 - 3x16 The Ark
January 15 - 3x17 Sunday
January 22 - 3x18 Submersion
January 29 - 3x19 Vengence
February 5 - 3x20 First Strike
I think the order and dates are right, but anything goes.
The airing dates are different from the list on GW and various sites is because they have listed the episodes by production and many times episode are produced out of order. Leaving some confusion some times.

AL
I disagree
Spoiler:
Sheppard has had attention of newbies and always has had Weir. He needs a kick in the pants to make him see that he shouldn't wait around because Weir is attractive and he's not only one who thinks so. The reason I like the idea of a newbie maybe this will make him make a move and that way another character who we like won't get hurt. A newbie won't get in our Ship's way a regular would.

That would be truly hard, to try and find someone not work related.
Spoiler:
I'm glad she's having a date, she's hot. And I haven't seen the first ship being killed by a ship plot device temporary boyfriend.

True, but I wasn't talking about 'ship only
Spoiler:
I was speaking more to Making Elizabeth questions the broundries with subordinates. Then again, maybe having a regular in the position wouldn't give her the same perspective. And at least we're suppose to learn more about Lizzie and Teyla's friendship so that's a plus.
Despite being close, I've never even been over the Canadian border. Damn this whole "no money" thing! But the weather here is agreeable (just not at the moment, at least in the south eastern area) for the most part... *shrug*
Well, we've got a few inches of snow on the ground at my place (20 mins east of Seattle) and a lot of ice in the mornings, but at least we have power again!

Hehe,
Spoiler:
you're right about the plot device, though! To bring Mike into play JUST for Elizabeth to get a date... no way. There has to be more to it! He's the struggle-inforcer and maybe John-jealous-maker. Mwahaha.
hey! I'm new and I love it here! I am a sparky/"spanky", but hate the name. I have a friend on this thread, but she is too shy to come out. you know who you are girl! come out for me!?

I find Sparky and Spanky very fitting for the ships.
And nicer sounding than "Shweir" and... what would the mix name for Spanky be, anyway? Teylon? Ronla? *lol*

Wow, I never realized how many Washington people there are on here! *waves* And can I just say again how much that power outage sucked? No Sparky news for five days!!!
As for "Sunday," I'm feeling cautiously optimistic, but I have a feeling that this is the episode that will make or break my opinion of TPTB.

I agree with you Lady Lethe, Sunday will make or break my opinions of TPTB. And regarding Sunday
Spoiler:
I'm already debating whether or not I will watch S4 because of what's going to happen with Carson, if TPTB do something drastic to mess up our dear Shweir/Sparky ship....well, that may just push me over the edge.....
