I was thinking of a stud that could be removed and replaced with a ring (for the weekends or something) and I haven't broken any bones, given birth or done anything memorably painful so the tattoo would be the most painful thing yet...

If you have a high pain-level, it doesn't hurt. I didn't feel pain almost at all.
