As a season 6 enemy, it's not original anymore. Both the Asurans and Ori have done this. Quite frankly, i think Stargate has become way too obsessed with the Ancients as a whole. A fresh new face completely unrelated to anything ancient would be nice actually.

The Furlings - opposite to what their name suggests, they are in fact an evil race...

I have a whole fan-fiction idea based on this very idea! At least I'm not alone in thinking of this =D I do agree that Stargate could benefit from a different direction than following in the Ancient's footsteps. They're important but not the be-all end-all. I'd try and see what the Asgard have been up to while they were alive, and what hidden secrets can be found in their history. But that'd be best suited for an entirely new spin-off/sequel.

In regards to Atlantis, the Wraith needed to become a major threat again. They could invent a new power source that would give their ships a significant boost to speed, weapons and hull integrity, making them much harder to take down. There's always the unknown Alien race from "The Daedalus Variations", they could become a new enemy - just one that wouldn't eclipse the Wraith.

What about just having humans be the big bad. We seemed to have irked off quite a few human populations over the years, especialy the Genii. so maybe they form a union similar to the ep where we got put on trial.

All that they really need is to be united again. Its the wraith's inner fighting that made them so weak. Before that, they easily managed a fleet of 12 Hives to take down Atlantis like no big deal.

This might be interesting, but considering we were made part of the Coalition of Planets it might not be as effective. Then again, we've been duped before. Some subterfuge and infiltration could make for some interesting confrontations. After us leaving the Pegasus Galaxy the Genii might have taken our role as the military force of the coalition and they may not appreciate our return as it threatens their position. That could actually make an interesting plotline. What claim would Atlantis have to resume its role once it seemingly abandoned the galaxy?

This is a good point and could add a few layers to Todd as a character. Would he resume command over what remains of his faction? Would he be forced to assimilate into a larger faction of Wraith in order to survive? Honestly, I think Todd could have done more. I mean, he had command of the Daedalus for a short time, I honestly think he would have used the time to acquire or analyse some of the advanced technology onboard. I'd have liked to see him incorporate it into what remains of his faction.

But yes, an ultimately united force of Wraith could have been exactly what the show needed to be a threat once again. It was a mistake to have them in a civil war for so long, as it was just a way to let Atlantis off the hook. What made Season 1 so tense was that they could have been found at any point, and the Siege of Atlantis proved that the might of the Wraith was no joke. Twelve Hives! That's among the largest fleets we've seen. Even Ba'al/Anubis' fleet of Ha'taks at Dakara would have trembled.

Also one of the most awesome visuals ever. the twelve hives dropping out of hyperspace with the Daedalus hovering over it was pretty iconic

And i just LOVED the visuals of those hives coming out of hyperspace.. Pity they seemed to go away from that in the later seasons.

Less McKay overall. He basically was the star of the show by Season 3/4. Lets cut back.

Figure out Teyla. She is useless in the show. Ronnon basically is a better version of her. Also more Ronnon.

Finally explain what is so special about Sheppard and Ancient Tech.

More of the Pegasus Asgard. Maybe have them team up with the other 'mysterious technologically advanced' races. Hell maybe have them create an alliance to go after Atlantis.

Just me but I would like see a new ship besides Puddle Jumpers, 302s and 304s. Maybe a Earth made version of a Puddle Jumper.

Maybe a smaller gunboat like ship for Atlantis.

I definitely agree about less McKay. He got way too many storylines at the expense of the other characters.

To me, Teyla was always supposed to be Daniel's equivalent as the kind of Cultural Advisor. She started out as this, advising Atlantis about the ways of other human populations throughout Pegasus, but that died out during later seasons. I think one way to give Teyla more to do would be to have the Athosians add more to the series. Perhaps train her own people in the ways of combat, having realised she cannot protect them from the horrors of the Wraith alone? I wouldn't say Ronon is 'better' than her in terms of character, in fact I think he gets even less than she does. All he really has is the fact that he's a Runner and hates the Wraith. I'd like to bring in a more tactical side to him and make his role a bit similar to Vala's - he has contacts across the galaxy due to his travels that might help them with certain situations. He might have even picked up on some Wraith combat tactics during his time as a Runner.

I've never thought that Sheppard was particularly special when it came to the Ancient technology, but I have to admit it'd be nice to see more story for him. I think he was left out as much as Teyla and Ronon at times.

I completely agree about more of the Pegasus Asgard. I wouldn't necessarily want them to be our enemies because the thought makes my Asgard fanboy heart sad, but I do think an arc for them being uneasy enemies to eventual allies would be interesting. It'd be refreshing to see the Asgard be more antagonistic.

I would have loved to have seen more space ships, but I understand that from an FX point of view they're expensive to design and implement. Depending on how much later a hypothetical Season 6 took place, I think that Earth building a new, larger model of ship, say: a BC-305? Like a mothership/flagship for Earth. Honestly, I would have been content with seeing more BC-303's recommissioned, due to their smaller size they wouldn't have been so intensive on resources. I know they lack fire power, but since the Asgard left everything they know in the computer core aboard the Odyssey, I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that Earth could have installed some Beliskner-class weapons into the BC-303 designs (I think having ALL of our ships have the Asgard beam weapons would just make us overpowered). I just miss the Prometheus, okay? =[ I also think an Earth-version of a Puddlejumper would be great too! I mean, the Goa'uld had the Needle Threader, so why can't we try and design something?

More 303s.. I like the idea. Heck we could place more beam weapons on them, like say those used by the Gou'ald, rather than railguns.

I think it would have been really cool if the BC-303's acted similarly to the Wraith Cruisers and were escorts for the larger class of ships. They could have also been used for less important missions, say reconnaissance or gathering intel.

I also think that the Wraith need new ships. The Goa'uld got progressively better and more powerful ships, so why can't the Wraith? There's a mod for the game Star Wars: Empire At War - Rebellion, called The Pegasus Chronicles and it has the Wraith as a faction. They designed new Wraith-styled ships and I have to say they look absolutely amazing and fit right in with the Wraith designs.

Honestly, if the Wraith factions pooled together their collective might and brightest minds they could definitely pose a threat for Atlantis. I want the Wraith to invent some new technologies so they're not such push overs. Even just stronger hulls and faster ship regeneration would be enough - their weapons can already be deadly to Earth ships with enough of a barrage.

I think the wraith lack a Battleship type, something bigger than a Cruiser and more powerful. The hive never struck me as a ship designed for battle, and the Cruiser clearly can't cope anymore with modern battles. An Aurora-sized warship featuring more powerful reactors could do. Like, what happens if you strip a hive of it's empty space, triple the space for the reactors and have it designed to fight.

I don't like the idea of a larger version of the 304. Having multiples of them is already past the point of credibility of maintaining the Stargate Program secret in addition of Earth even building them in the first place.

Everyone wants a super battleship. It's flashy and it's wanktastic but small ships is more realistic especially if you allow the US Navy to build them instead of the Air Force.

That also I would like to see, the US Navy (and other Earth militaries) in Atlantis.

Be kinda cool along with a Earth built Puddle Jumper they made their version of a drone. Not that hard since it is missiles in the first place.
