    Cons of living on Lantea

Let's brainstorm reasons why Lantea was a terrible planet to live on.

    1) Evil storms every so often
    2) Coronal Mass Ejections every 15,000 years that kills everything
    3) Paper-thin crust
    4) In the middle of a Wraith-infested area of space
    5) Everyone knew where it was and what was there

Feel free to add your observations too!

I agree with you there, but then Atlantis had 3 ZPM's and could cover most of the entire planet with their shield, and the 'paper thin crust' was good for geothermal energy...

actually you mess up cause and effect. it doesn't have a paper thin crust. the spot where the geothermal station was, was a thin spot.

everyone knows where it is because the famous ancients placed their famous capital there.

        6) pissed off wraith queen on the bottom of the ocean
        7) telepathic whales giving everyone a hell of a headache
I'm an average viewer. As plain as they come. People make TV shows based on my demographic.

        Million's of ZPM's, ZPM's for free! Millions of ZPM's, ZPM's for me!

A storm cannot be evil for it is not a living entity, it is merely an atmospheric event. Besides, the storm wasn't the issue, it was the massive tidal wave. Wasn't the massive tidal wave a rare event? In regards to the coronal mass ejections every 15,000 years, well... that's not limited to Lantea, that's a solar system wide catastrophe. Who would expect that? Since when is the planet's crust paper thin? Isn't the whole galaxy Wraith infested? Of coarse everyone knew where Atlantis was. It's not like they can just fly off to an entirely different solar system every time their location gets exposed. As for the angry Wraith queen at the bottom of the ocean... that doesn't make the planet a bad location. You just kill the Wraith queen. Finally, the telepathic whales. Didn't they warn Atlantis of the coronal mass ejection? Isn't that a very good thing?

But the whales did give everyone migraines and one guy died as a result...

I'm not saying that Lantea didn't have its nice spots, but if a planet goes that nuts all the time, it's not worth having the City of the Ancients there

Every planet will be a dangerous place to inhabit. The big question is, do the Wraith know where you are? If not, might as well be home.
