Yes, clearly a cliffhanger, but also pretty satisfying as well! It reminds me of (reading about) the way books used to be serialized in newspapers or old-time radio shows. Tune in next week and all that stuff, right? It's a damn long story arc but despite a few quibbles I have with characterization (I guess we all see the characters through our own personal glasses) I really, really love where this series is going/has gone. It's a fun romp.

One: is there any precedent in canon whatsoever for John Sheppard having enough interest in science or history that he would actually be able to recite the natural history of the husbandry and breeding of horses? Has he ever expressed an interest in them? I found this out of character.
1: Horses being used in warfare during a period when there were guns and cannons isn't specialist historical knowledge. I'm guessing that everyone in the US knows something about the American Civil War, for example.
2: Teyla mentions Pegasus horses being too small for cavalry use and Sheppard agrees with her because he's seen Pegasus horses.
3: It's been established that the Ancients transferred Earth humans to Pegasus thousands of years ago so it's logical to assume that the little Pegasus horses were domestic animals who were transferred too. They aren't big enough to ride so it's also logical to assume that Earth humans bred horses to be bigger. The Pegasus humans never got round to doing this.
4: Sheppard has seen bigger horses in the Milky Way galaxy when he visited a planet which had been under the protection of the Asgard. He guesses that this planet had been seeded during Earth's Middle Ages. Horses being used for warfare during the Middle Ages isn't specialist historical knowledge either.Last edited by ciannwn; 02 July 2012, 09:20 AM.sigpic

Does anyone know the date of release for Book 5 - Secrets?sigpicsig by Isolde

Woohoo! Arrived home today, having been away a few days & discovered that my copy of The Furies has finally arrived!
Sadly it looks like it's had three shades of s**t kicked out of it, I've waited so long to read it (plus expense/hassle of returning) I'm gonna have to put up with it ... Come on Fandemonium, you charge enough to ship to the UK perhaps you should start packaging the books better - for example in the cardboard wraps Amazon use (& not a thin Jiffy/loose jiffy bag)!
Anyway, guess what I'm doing tomorrow ... happy reading to me!
