    hahaha

    classic

anyone remember the film 'Signs' [mel gibson, etc]

aliens come to earth (covered in 75% water) and they where killed by contact with water!

then remeber the SG1 episode when sam took the p155 out of the logic in it.

Do you really think the writers would 'copy' the logic of a story they mocked?

It's Occam's Razor, and it's being misused in this context. While it's true that Occam's Razor states that where multiple explanations are possible, the simplest one is prefereable, it also that you should never make more assumptions than is necessary in any given postulate.

Saying that a stretch of land consisting of no more than perhaps a square kilometer is indicitive of the conditions of a whole planet is making a metric buttload of assumptions. Imagine landing on Earth in the Sahara... would you assume Earth is a desert world? There's just no basis to form a conclusion on the conditions of a whole planet based on minimal info.

Wouldn't that kinda make it like 'Signs'? Didn't Sam make fun of that movie?

Anyway, in 38 Minutes the salt water didn't seem to hurt the bug, it just made it angry.

Kind of like the the SG1 episode Solitudes.... Sam digs her way out of the glacier, sees alot of ice and decides that the entire planet must be ice....
