Review of Joe Flanigan's Ferocious Planet:

      http://www.dreadcentral.com/reviews/...anet-syfy-2011

...But, every once in a while a SyFy Original comes along that’s actually well written, well crafted, and it gives you hope that, perhaps, more such films will follow, which is why we keep watching.

Ferocious Planet is one of those films.

Well, why not? Another good review for Ferocious Planet:
        http://tvovermind.zap2it.com/tv-news...s-planet/53895

B-movie staple John Rhys-Davies briefly brings his British (um... southern) accent and holier than thou attitude to Ferocious Planet as an American Senator with an interest in otherworld dimensions in Saturday's Syfy classic-in-the-making. Sharing the screen as the reluctant, ornery and hotter than hell hero is Joe Flanigan. It's sure good to see him back in the realm of science fiction, where he fits so gloriously well.
The movie didn't take itself too seriously, and didn't treat the adventure like a joke, either. It was like a mix of Journey to the Center of the Earth and Primeval. Another gold star for Syfy's original programming slate.

Most of all, I like Joe Flanigan and watching him in action just proves he needs to be helming his own series again. Syfy, please take note. To experience the thrills of another dimension, tune into Syfy this Saturday at 9:00 pm Eastern. You won't be sorry!

          and more:
Interview with Joe F (talks a little about SGA, Ferocious Planet and his own personal whump):

Speaking about his new movie Ferocious Planet, Stargate Atlantis star Joe Flanigan says, "to just get back into some camouflage and run around and shoot things. Call me crazy. I know it sounds a little weird, but I felt right at home!"

For those asking - "Captain Starship" is a Presentation Pilot at this point, so we have to get interest before anyone sees it. Stay tuned!

David Hewlett - Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes available all over the net. Movie scheduled to open Aug 5, 2011.

                        Trailer: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/fox/urlpeswillrise/
                        Official Movie Site: http://www.apeswillrise.com/

I didn't see David (whose character name is "Hunsiker" according to IMDB). Of course, things go by so fast he could've been in the background and I didn't see it. Soemtimes an actor makes the trailer even if it's a small role depending if the actor is interacting with someone primary to the plot. I didn't see John Lithgow and it seems from David's tweets and interview comments that David's scenes were with him.
