Journey to the Center of the Earth

1959 version. Dino-iguanas just never get old. Also, I think I see where Spielberg and Lucas drew inspiration for the famous rolling boulder sequence in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.

Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

                            Quatermass 2 (1957) - 10/10.

Second of Hammer's sci-fi thrillers based on the BBC's Quatermass serials.

Brian Donlevey plays the titular scientist once more, making him the only actor to have played the charater twice.

World War Z. As a diehard fan of the book, I have to say I was... actually very impressed. It has extremely few similarities to the book but it is actually a pretty damn good movie. Hopefully the sequel will deal with more of the book's elements.
And now it's time for one last bow, like all your other selves. Eleven's hour is over now... the clock is striking Twelve's.
