That is quite true. In fact there is a thread VERY similar to this one on the forums at Fel's website, that also has a link to Baen, among others. There is a large and growing ebook readership. I am of those, having my own eReader to carry with me to use during those times one ends up just waiting around. In that other thread, I did mention an ebook reader would be useful to read Fel's work. (Useful, but not necessary)

The first few books at least are pretty good, "A Hymn before Battle", "Gust Front" and "Hells faire" and I'd easily recommend them. After that the series sort of breaks down IMO.

I read some of those novels and I wasn't impressed... for one, the science is very bad, they use "gravity guns" to accelerate projectiles to relativistic velocity in atmosphere for one. The trouble is, the gravity gradient required would likely shred everything within several hundred meters of the gun (including said gun and its user), and the projectile would detonate a few hundred meters after that due to air resistance.

Yeah... major technological myopia all around, I have to day, in any book published by Baen, sadly.

Still, if you don't care too much about that, their allright books, too human centric for my liking, and it's a cash cow franchisee for sure, but as a military sci-fi? It works.

No it's awful. I thought I was reading fan fiction it was so bad. Everything from characters to plotting was terrible. You may feel differently though.

I just started Biting the Sun by Tanith Lee. It's a bit odd, but interesting.

I've been reading the "Percy Jackson" books lately for just a bit of fun. It's no Raymond E Fiest, but they are a very easy read and entertaining enough.

I haven't finished it yet but it is pretty good I'm usually not a fan of books written in first person but I like this one.

I've never read the Percy Jackson books ; I've read the Artemis Fowl books though; they're another YA series that are quick and fun to read.

I'm reading The Blue Is For Nightmares by Laurie Stolarz. Pretty good, not so much sci-fi/fantasy as it is folk magic and a murder mystery combined with a hint of the supernatural and you're usual teen drama.
