Has anyone else seen it yet?

I saw it today and.....wow.....I don't know what to think, it's remarkable, and definitly one of those "what just happened?" kind of films. I definitly recommend that people go and see it- but yes, the audience will be split. You'll either "get" it, even if you don't fully understand, or you'll have walked away as if from a piece of art that just didn't quite speak to you. Incredibley beautiful movie, and Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weiz were amazing.

    It's got my full recommendation.

I'm curious as to what others thought of it.

Edit: I think Aronofsky is a genius.

It is, and it's so different, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. Really hope you enjoy it- Hugh Jackman is great.

Haven't seen it yet, but if this is anything like Arronofsky's previous outing (Pi), I see good things come Oscar season.

I saw it the other day and i have to say it is definately one of my favorite movies now. It was just amazing, and whats even cooler is that there was only one peice of cgi in the whole movie the rest of the special effects were chemical reactions and other things of the like filmed through a microsope, the director then like messed with that with different film effects to get what he wanted. it was pretty tight in my opinion, although i will say this i went with three other people, two of them hated it, although i think that is just because their brother is trying to get into film and said that it looked bad, and the other one was too confused afterward to decide if she liked it or not.

Wow, what a passionate love story! I really enjoyed it, and the soundtrack. My friends all bolted from the theater and slipped into Casino Royale. But what do they know--they're all a bunch of professional Historians, without an ounce of imagination.

I agree- it's among my favourite films now as well....the thing I like about it so much is that I can just picture the scenes in my mind so vividly, becuase it left such an impression. Can't blame your friends for not liking it though, definitly an aquired taste- you either get it, or you don't.

And the chemical stuff is just really cool- there was a great article in the November issue of Wired about it, which I really enjoyed reading.

The music was absolutly lovely, might have to look out for the soundtrack- you can actually hear one of the themes on the official website with a nice flowing background to it.

Saw it opening day here. I'd watch Hugh Jackman in anything. I'm still not sure I "got" where Aronofsky was going though. There was one scene with Jackman's character that just choked me up! GAH......
