Well, beyond the obvious (LOTR, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Matrix), my favorites are: The Princess Bride, Ladyhawke, Labyrinth, Dark City, The Thirteenth Floor, ET, Explorers, Outland, Tron....

I am so blessed! Cherriey made this cool sig; scarimor made this great Dr. Lee smilie and Spudster made another neat one Dr. Lee RULES!

I can't say Serenity enough. If you haven't seen it then see it, and then watch all the special features (so that you find out about Firefly).

And if we're broaching out to series, check out Red vs Blue. Its a comedy/sci-fi in the same way as HG2G, Back to the Future and the Bill and Ted movies. Plus its one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.

            There are so many.

            The X-men movies
            The matrix movies
            The Starwars saga
            LOTR movies
            Alien V Predator
            Starship Troopers
            Batman Begins
            Independance Day
Science Fiction is an existential metaphor; it allows us to tell stories about the human condition.

Isaac Asimov once said individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

My faves would have to be:

                    1. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
                    2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
                    3. Aliens
                    4. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
                    5. Underworld
                    6. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

The order of the movies is meaningless.
You don't know the power of the Dark Side

My list... not necessarily in order of preference...

The Matrix Trilogy (The first movie was a true pioneer... a mindblowing, metaphysical experience)
                      Equilibrium
                      Serenity
                      LOTR esp ROTK
The Princess Bride "My name is Inigo Montoya... You killed my father... Prepare to Die!"
                      Aliens Part 2
                      Terminator Trilogy
Batman Begins... Thanks Mr Eddie for the reminder... One of my favourites for 2005

I loved ET as a kid... I don't know how many times I watched it as a 12 year old... Haven't revisited it for years.

My first 60 on the list are comprised of the LOTR trilogy. To me it is hands down the greatest story ever told.
After that in no particular order:

                        Stargate
                        Independence Day
                        Planet of the Apes
Highlander (IIIIIII want to live forever)
And for the longest time, Hook was my favorite movie. It may be a little juvenile but I liked the new take on Peter Pan and the cast was great.

It's a joke. My way of deflecting attention from my own obvious heroism. You'll get used to it.
