Order Now – Doctor Who 5.5″ Thirteenth Doctor Regeneration Set

          https://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite...eneration-set/

          Available to order from www.character-online.com

Character Options reveals its next Online Exclusive, The Doctor Who Thirteenth Doctor Regeneration set

This fabulous collector’s set, appropriately goes on presale today, Doctor Who Day, for delivery early January 2023

Character Options has today revealed details of its latest exclusive Doctor Who collectors set titled ‘The Regeneration Set.’ The set takes its inspiration from the fantastic finale of ‘The Power of the Doctor’ featuring the Thirteenth Doctor’s final story. The episode debuted on Sunday 23rd October 2022 and stunned fans and news wires alike as the face of the Fourteenth Doctor was revealed after the Thirteenth Doctor’s epic, and final battle.
This new set is a fabulous and hugely distinctive set unlike anything produced previously and will hopefully firstly surprise fans and collectors alike and then delight them with its details and uniqueness.

The figures represent a one of a kind treat for collectors, as the set contains not one but two brand new Doctor Who action figures in the 5.5 inch scale available exclusively in this set and nowhere else.

First up is the Thirteenth Doctor in the ‘taunting’ multi-Doctor outfit, inspired by her past incarnations after a forced regeneration into the Master. This figure of the Thirteenth Doctor has been modified to be correct to the detailed look of the Doctor’s outfit in this story with details from the Second, Fourth, Fifth, Seventh and Tenth Doctors’ iconic outfits replicated in detail.

The second figure in the set introduces a brand new figure of the Fourteenth Doctor which features his brand new look including the head sculpt with unique hair style, as well as his outfit which features, the textured dark blue calf length coat, rumpled plaid waistcoat and trousers, heavy weave silver tie, and warm grey plimsoles. This figure also includes ball jointed shoulders for added articulation.

The packaging alone is exceptional featuring a brand new ‘Fifth panel window box’ format with a unique graphic look, which feels very unlike any collector pack to date, and has a physical format which would not look out of place on shelf or in a display cabinet. The pack graphics have been designed to look bold and fresh and feature a bright white matt card finish with a high gloss UV overprint that picks out key details including the new Doctor Who logo. The flip open front panel has a cut-out lozenge shape which reveals the set name and then leads us into the pack proper. Opening the front panel we find on the reverse side, a brief bio of the characters, and a short story synopsis, and on the right is a window displaying both figures against a swirling Vortex themed background.

Al Dewar Creative Director for Character Options commented: “We all felt it was a genuine delight to see the Thirteenth Doctor’s era end on such a powerful note and as hard as it must have been to follow that, the genuine surprise reveal of her next incarnation in the form of the Fourteenth Doctor was mind blowing!

“Obviously we had a huge help from BBC Studios and Bad Wolf Studios in creating this new item and everyone has been massively invested in bringing a set to fans that really stands out as a celebration of this iconic part of Doctor Who history. We therefore cannot thank Russell T Davies, the brand team and BBC Studios enough for their huge help. It’s a real testament to everyone involved that this particular set has turned out to be such an amazing item and presented in this frankly shockingly fabulous packaging. The results speak for themselves and this is a real unique opportunity to add something truly special to your Doctor Who Collection.”

          Set contents are as follows:
          • Thirteenth Doctor Action Figure with Sonic Screwdriver accessory
          • Fourteenth Doctor Action Figure

The Regeneration Set is a true one off and limited in supply, making it yet again a true exclusive and demand for this two pack is likely to be high. The set will be available to pre-order today at a retail cost of £29.99 which includes post and packing. The sets are due to be in stock to our warehouse in very late December and will be dispatched shortly after Christmas to avoid any delays in the mail system which might affect our customers. Updates will be issued if anything happens that affects these dates.

A Diamond Doctor Who Audio Special!
            23 November 2022

            https://www.bigfinish.com/news/v/a-d...oaudio-special

Big Finish marks 60 years of Doctor Who with a mammoth eight-part full-cast audio drama series beginning in May 2023.

“There will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like the Doctor” – Steven Moffat

Since landing in 1963, Doctor Who has made history as the world’s longest-running action-adventure TV show! As we head into the anniversary year, it’s time to revisit the past and commemorate the legacy of those who came before...

The Time War. The Doctor has been injured and brought to a Time Lord field hospital. His body glows with energy, but this is no regeneration into a future form - instead, the Doctor’s past faces begin to appear as he flits haphazardly between incarnations...

Staggering to his TARDIS, the Doctor sets out to solve the mystery of his ‘degeneration’. Who has done this to him? How? And why? From the Earth to the stars, across an array of familiar times and places, he follows clues to retrace his steps, encountering old friends and enemies along the way. Tumbling through his lives, the Doctor must stop his degeneration before he loses himself completely...

Doctor Who – Once and Future stars Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, with dozens more guest cast still to be revealed.

Producer David Richardson said: “An astonishing array of talent has come aboard to be a part of this epic eight-hour anniversary story. It’s a huge Doctor Who party and a massive celebration that has been years in the making.”

The series will be released monthly, with the first seven parts materialising between May and October 2023, and a final coda in November 2024.

Doctor Who fans worldwide can now pre-order the bundle of all eight audio adventures on special edition CD (+ download) for just £75, or digital (download only) for just £62, exclusively here. The CD bundle is strictly limited to just 3,000 pressings and includes numbered CDs, special bonus artworks and additional audio content, including music suites and extended behind-the-scenes interviews.

All eight stories can also be pre-ordered as separate single releases on standard collector’s edition CD (+ download, for £10.99 each) or digital (download only, for £8.99 each). A standard bundle pre-order is available for £72 (on CD + download) or £60 (download only). The standard edition does not include the extras contained in the special edition, but does include behind-the-scenes features.

All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.
Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mailout of collector’s edition CDs will be delayed, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.

Titan Comics has announced a two-issue comic series launching on July 5, 2023, as part of the Doctor Who multi-platform story Doom’s Day.

The comic series will feature fan-favorite character Missy on the trial of new character Doom, who makes her comic book debut.

It was announced last month that Titan Comics are participating in BBC Studios’ multi-platform Doctor Who story, Doom’s Day to celebrate Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary.

Doom’s Day is a standalone transmedia series across multiple platforms and will allow Doctor Who fans to follow Doom, the Universe’s greatest assassin, as she travels through all of time and space in pursuit of the Doctor to save her from her ever-approaching Death. She only has 24 hours and a vortex manipulator to save herself before her fate is sealed forever.

Available in comic stores and on digital devices at release, Titan’s Doctor Who: Doom’s Day #1 comic is an adventure starring Doom in her comic book debut – using her vortex manipulator, she'll do anything to find the tempestuous time traveller, the Doctor, including cavorting with the maleficent MISSY. Every hour a new adventure, every hour closer to death...

Doctor Who: Doom’s Day Home is written by Eisner-nominated Jody Houser (Stranger Things, Star Wars, Spider-Man) with art by Roberta Ingranata (Witchblade). The comic debuts with two covers for fans to collect: from celebrated artist Pasquale Qualano, and a photo cover variant.

Jake Devine, Editor, Titan’s Doctor Who Comics, says:

Issue 590 of Doctor Who Magazine has an exclusive interview with Doctor Who composer Murray Gold.
People started saying, ‘We really need to speak to Murray,’ There was a director, Mark Tonderai [overseeing the 2023 Christmas Special]. I was like, ‘What can he possibly want?’ And then Ben [Chessell], who’s directing episode two… this was January 26th and he says, ‘I’m directing this episode and it seems to have a lot of music in it. Have you looked at it?’ Then another director. And another. Then it started to dawn on me: ‘There’s an awful lot of music in this series, isn’t there, Murray?’ I was speaking to myself now, not realising, of course, that my consciousness is just a fantasy. ‘And apparently Russell [T Davies] has entrusted all of it to me.’ And actually, that’s quite an honour. I love that man.”

BBC Books has announced a new novelisation of one of the second Doctor's classic stories, The Evil of the Daleks, written by former companion Frazer Hines.

The new version is an inventive new retelling of one of Doctor Who’s all-time classic adventures first screened in 1967.

The Evil of the Daleks was the last story of Season Four, written by Doctor Who's original Script Editor, David Whitaker. An novelisation by John Peel was published in 1993, the last story of the original series to be published under the Target imprint.

This new adaptation of the adventure tells the story from the point of view of Jamie McCrimmon, companion to the second Doctor and played by Hines.
After defending a space station from a Cyberman incursion, the Doctor and Jamie learn that young astrophysicist Zoe wishes to join them on their travels. To give her fair warning of the dangers she may face, the Doctor places the TARDIS outside time and space and uses a mind projector to share one of their most harrowing adventures…

And so, Jamie is forced to relive his encounter with the Daleks at their most evil and calculating. In a complex plot that dragged him from modern-day London to Victorian times and finally, to the Dalekworld of Skaro, he endured ordeals that tested his courage, strength – and his friendship with the doctor – to the limit. He presents his own version of some of those events to Zoe; events that still anger him.

And while fact and fiction blur inside the TARDIS, a malevolent force watches from outside. Soon, Jamie finds himself lured from the safety of the ship into dangers that could end Zoe’s travels before they begin – and all their lives, as well.

The Evil of the Daleks by Frazer Hines (BBC Books, £20) is out in hardback on 26th October 2023.

                                BBC Studios

BBC Studios has teamed up with Reality+ to launch a collection of immersive experiences in the metaverse based on the BBC’s world-famous brands including Doctor Who.

BBC Studios has partnered with Web3 specialist Reality+ to create a metaverse experience in The Sandbox where fans will be able to interact with immersive content from their favourite brands, including Top Gear and Doctor Who, and enjoy a BBC events space.

The joint venture between BBC Studios and Reality+ marks the first time the BBC will have a home in the metaverse, following a handful of brand activation experiments with metaverse platforms. Part virtual real estate, part amusement park, The Sandbox fully embraces the idea of the metaverse as a continuous shared digital space, in which players and brands can build, own, and monetise their experiences on blockchain.

BBC Studios joins over 400 other entertainment brands who have entered The Sandbox to date, including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Gucci Vault, The Walking Dead, and Adidas.

Nicki Sheard, President Brands & Licensing, BBC Studios, said,
I’m delighted that BBC Studios is partnering with Reality+ and The Sandbox on this exciting venture. While the metaverse is still in its infancy, it may shape how we consume and experience entertainment in the future and I’m looking forward to seeing how fans interact with our brands in this space. This project forms part of BBC Studios broader ambitious plans to grow our brands into new categories, with innovative technology and platforms forming an integral part of this.

                                Tony Pearce, Co-Founder, Reality+ said,
We're excited to have extended our partnership with BBC Studios, not only to help them push the boundaries of what’s possible in the metaverse, but for the opportunity to deliver exciting new experiences for the fans of these world-renowned TV shows. We've already achieved so much with digital trading card game Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, and now with a fantastic platform like The Sandbox, there’s much more to come.

Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder at The Sandbox, added,
We’re proud that BBC Studios chose Reality+, a certified metaverse agency partner working on The Sandbox platform, to enter the metaverse with top global brands like Doctor Who and Top Gear. The BBC has a history of pioneering content that leverages the latest technology and putting it into mainstream households. We think this venture is an important step to bringing British culture and fans into virtual worlds.

BBC Studios’ metaverse space in The Sandbox will launch later this year and further details will be released in due course.

Reality+ helps worldwide brands transition to Web3 with bespoke product, community and development strategies, backed by an award-winning technology platform. It has previously partnered with BBC Studios to develop the Doctor Who: Worlds Apart digital trading card game.
