    The Twelfth Doctor!
    Posted by Bethany Grenald

I was really excited to hear that Peter Capaldi has been chosen to be the 12th incarnation of Doctor Who! Of course, for us, the announcement immediately threw us into high gear! We are licensed to make Doctor Who action figures, and we want to be sure that fans can get their hands on their 12th Doctor action figures as soon as possible!

So what does this mean? As soon as we heard the announcement, we began making the sculpt for the action figure's head. It takes a long time to create a sculpt that meets our standards. We also need to get it approved by the BBC and the actor himself.

Once we get a sculpt approved, we've got to wait... we need to see what the actor looks like in full costume and makeup. We have to modify the sculpt to reflect appropriate facial expression, hair color and style, and facial hair. We have to see what the new Doctor will be wearing so we can prepare authentic clothing for the figure, too. Then we need to choose fabrics, design the clothing, and create a mockup. This too must be approved by the actor and the BBC. Finally, we'll go into production on the figure! We estimate that the figure will be ready to ship to you in May 2014.

Incidentally, we currently have some other Doctor Who 8-inch action figures available. We made a Convention Exclusive for Comic-Con 2013 of the First and Eleventh Doctors in a collectible Tin Tote, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. And we have a Fourth Doctor action figure too. We are in the process of creating Doctor Who Action Figures for all of the others so you can collect a complete set. These are due to hit shelves in the Fall of 2014. And stay tuned for announcements about action figures for other beloved (or feared) Doctor Who figures, from River Song and Clara to Weeping Angels and Silence!

So what do you think of the Twelfth Doctor sculpt so far? We're starting with a face with a neutral expression, but we'll change it so it will have a distinctive Doctor Who expression soon!

Considering that's just a work in progress early prototype, that's a pretty good likeness.

Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.

Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

You know how to get the missing episodes back? Wait until we invent a timemachine, steal it, go back to the year the episodes were destroyed, steal them, go back to the future, digitalize them, take the originals back so noone notices they were gone and the digitalized versions take to BBC headquarters 23rd November 2013 16:00 UTC. Leave them there secretly, with some witty note maybe and then travel back to your original time quickly. Easy, huh?

First thing we do when time travel is invented, go back in time and give Simon Cowell's father a vasectomy.

The NZ mint is at it again, but this time you'll need a time machine to go back in time and invest $1 in 1863 to reap the rewards of compound interest... in order to buy this:

                                http://www.nzmint.com/coins/shop-onl...ollectible-set

Only 4,000 of each Doctor will be minted, with 3,000 of those to be sold in the box sets.

AU price is $699, and scampers are already charging $1000 on eBay despite a release date of 3 Nov...

I'm not really a coin collector - that's my wife... But next to the pewter chess set (have it) and pinball machine (want it), this looks like it'll become a real collectors piece/s.
